Introduction to My Archipelago Candle Review:

Archipelago Botanicals is a very big name in the luxury candle world as well as aromatherapy.  All their candles are hand poured using the finest ingredients and fragrance oils. The detail applied to each candle is truly exquisite. They offer beautifully styled jar candles, pillars & votives in a variety of fragrances from exotic, contemporary to old world…just about something for everyone.  Archipelago candles are very high quality and I can’t wait to try some jar candles because the pillars I tried were incredible.  I also think more fragrances are offered in their jar line. Their prices are up there with other luxury brands but this is a line I do plan on indulging myself with because they are very much worth it.

This was my first experience with Archipelago and I couldn’t believe how much I loved this candle!  Oh my gosh, I was in heaven and have found my new favorite luxury brand.  I ordered from Sensia.com as they have so many luxury and aromatherapy brands to choose from enabling you to sample different companies and not break the bank.

Back to Sensia.com… I’ve shopped with them several times and have had nothing but good experiences.  When I received my box of goodies and opened it, the most wonderful fragrances drifted to my nose.  The different aromas coming from my box was so strong, I couldn’t wait to open each individually wrapped candle to smell them for the first time.  Every candle I bought passed the initial sniff test and I couldn’t wait to start burning everything in the box.  Paramour won out for my first burn and is definitely my favorite so far.

What Does My Archipelago Paramour Pillar Look Like?

My pillar was beautiful.  The color a deep burgundy wine with chunks of white color throughout the pillar.  The dimensions of my candle was 2X3 so it’s small in size but perfect if you want to sample many scents as it only cost $6.95 per pillar.

How Did My Paramour Pillar Smell?

I couldn’t believe how strong this fragrance was considering hpw small this pillar was.  I’ve burned quite a few pillars and they never seem to be as strong as jar candles…not this one!  Sensia.com carefully wrapped each pillar I bought so when I picked up this candle for the first time and peeled open the paper, the most wonderful fragrance hit my nose.  I could see oil had soaked into the paper as I unwrapped it…I don’t know if that’s a good thing or not but it didn’t seem to matter or effect the quality at all…this candle smelled too good and I couldn’t wait to light it.

I decided to burn this candle in my master bathroom which is a good sized room.  It seems to be the perfect size to gauge scent strengths of smaller sized candles.  The few aromatherapy candles I’ve burned lately can’t even fill that room with scent so I usually end up moving them to my smaller powder room.  I kid you not, a few minutes after I lit this candle, I could smell it loud and clear.  20 minutes later, I could smell it all the way in my bedroom and as soon as you walk in, the scent hit me right when I walked into the room.  This little pillar gives an excellent scent throw so I can only imagine what their larger candles put out.  I was very impressed!

This is an extremely beautiful scent and very hard to describe.  The scent description on every website I could find that sells Archipelago Botanicals simply says, “Papaya, Mango & Pomegranate”.  It definitely smells fruity but I felt (and my nose told me) there must be more to this scent because I smelled way more than those three ingredients.  The fragrance is very deep, rich and sultry and one of those scents you can’t help but take deep breaths of every chance you get.  This was definitely a luxurious fragrance and a scent I will buy again and again.  I highly recommend this fragrance if you want something out of the ordinary because it certainly is.

Overall Opinion of My Paramour Pillar & Archipelago…

I really loved my Paramour Pillar and will definitely buy this fragrance again but next time in a jar.  It was a beautiful fragrance that captured my attention the entire time it burned.  Now THAT’S aromatherapy!!  This company simply oozes luxury and their candles are a wonderful indulgence if you can afford them.Archipelago Paramour Pillar

They have several collections worth checking out.  The collections are:

Excursion: which are made up of woodsy, floral and spice.

Signature: aromatherapy line.

Destinations: fragrances collected from around the world.

Home:  sophisticated and gourmet blends.

Monogram: Each letter from the alphabet gives a hint of the essential oil blend that awaits inside.

7 Wonders of the World: Each of the seven fragrances are based on the 7 wonders of the world.

Each collection is very distinctive and offers a bit of something for everyone.  I can’t wait to try them all and I’m sure (knowing me), I will sooner or later.  I really want to try the 7 Wonders Candles. Heck, who am I kidding?  I want to try them all!!

I know this line is available in many high end stores so check them out if you have some extra cash or simply like to indulge your nose and senses.  I think they’re very-very worth it.

Happy Candle Shopping!
