What did my candle smell like?

Christmas may be over but my holiday reviews will continue through the rest of January. It’s all good since the majority of Bath & Body Works holiday fragrances can be burned all year long anyway. Up next… Alpine Cheer.
Let’s start off with the scent description:

“Add cheer to your winter with the crisp fragrance of mountain balsam, cedarwood bark and snow white cranberry.”

Cranberry Christmas CandleFirst impression…. fresh balsam! This is my husband’s favorite time of the year for candles since I burn so many Christmas Tree scents (his favorite) and he loved this one! The scents that stood out the most to me… balsam and cedarwood – in that order. Cranberry? I think I detected cranberry but it was hard to tell… balsam dominated this fragrance – to my nose anyway.

I lit this candle in a large bedroom and it didn’t take long to start noticing the aroma. Maybe 10 minutes into lighting it. The scent….. so unique and not what I imagined. First sniff was all balsam but once burning the cedarwood and cranberry notes really came to life. I loved it!! It overall scent was masculine, fresh and festive all at the same time. I have to say…. after burning balsam/Christmas tree scents back to back for two weeks straight, this was a refreshing change of pace. I loved it!

Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle an 8. Not super strong but gave a nice and steady medium scent throw.

candle-flameHow did my candle burn?

My candle burned perfect. No wick issues. Clean and even burn from beginning to end.

Closing to my review:

I really enjoyed this fragrance and wish I would have purchased a few more. Oh well, will get more next year I suppose. It was really unique and a different spin on a holiday scent. Imagine balsam, exotic cedarwood and sweet cranberries blended perfectly…. that’s what this fragrance smelled like. I really-really liked it.

I have a few more holiday scents coming to stay tuned.thumbs-up-girl-5

Happy candle hunting!
