First Impressions of My Candle
As I’ve come to expect from Evoke Candle Company, the Aja candle was a like a little present in a 
beautiful gift box. The box itself was a pretty pink and white, with a pattern that resembled cherry blossoms on the outside. Once opening the box, I found the Aja candle wrapped in white tissue. The candle vessel itself was white with a soft pink glow from the enclosed pink wax. The label mimicked the box, which is sort of the M.O. for this brand. The scent name and company name were clearly displayed. You could remove the label if you wanted from this candle, but I found the label actually added to the whole “feel” of this candle.
My cold sniff was that of a beautiful soft floral scent. It kind of reminded me of lilac. Looking at the scent description on the website, I found:
Aja features a light, fresh, delicate Cherry Blossom scent for those moments when you want to escape to your tranquil space be it under a banyan tree or in a bubble bath.
The fragrance notes are listed as “fresh, delicate, and floral.” I was definitely getting that delicate floral vibe on cold sniff.
I burned this candle in a master bathroom, as I was in a ‘serenity now’ kind of mood. The candle started giving off the prettiest, softest floral fragrance about 20 minutes in. It was such a beautiful fragrance! As the candle burned, I thought I was smelling the light scent of roses and some underlying sweetness. It was definitely fresh and refreshing – I found myself slipping into zen mode in no time!
The candle fragrance was perfect for my current state of mind. It allowed me to relax while surrounding me with this lovely floral fragrance. It didn’t overpower me, but I could definitely smell it all throughout the bathroom. When I left the door open to the bathroom, I could smell the fragrance wafting out into the adjacent room. Swoon!
How Did My Candle Perform?
I was able to get a full wax melt pool with my Aja candle, leaving no wasted wax on the sides. While it burned, the melted pink wax gave such a glorious glow to the white candle vessel – it was stunning and contributed to my relaxed mode. The flame stayed nice and big but never got out of hand. I kept my candle burning for 3-4 hours at a time and just trimmed up in between. There was no noticeable black soot…just a nice, clean burn.
Closing To My Candle Review
I have yet to find a candle I don’t like from Evoke Candle Company. The Aja candle was another winner in my book – fresh and relaxing. It had a softer fragrance compared to some of their other candles, such as London Calling, but the softness of the fragrance went right in with the intended vibe. This candle is perfect for a relaxing spa day at home or a romantic evening with someone special.
