We love finding out about small candle companies all across the US. We never cease to be amazed at some of the wonderful products that are being made in all corners of the states. That was the case when we stumbled upon Bayou Burns, a soy candle company located in the great state of Texas. We tried a number of different scents, but we’re starting off our reviews of this company with their 100% That Candle wax melt…for obvious reasons. 😉
100% That Candle Wax Melts, Bayou Burns
Packaging/Presentation
The 100% That Candle wax melt was in a typical clamshell package, scored into six cubes. The Bayou Burns label was on a large circular label on the front, along with the scent name. The wax was undyed and had the appearance of soft soy wax. Nothing earth shattering here, but a nice, clean look.
Authenticity
On cold sniff, my 100% That Candle wax melt was incredibly refreshing. I thought I got some citrus and ozone notes, but that’s not really what the scent description read:

Bayou Burns
Once melting, the scent blossomed further and I could get more of a true picture. I could still smell the citrus notes, but it blended into more of a white floral/citrus mix, which I think was the beauty of the cactus flower. There was a warmth added to the fragrance, most likely from the oak moss. It weighed the scent down a little and kept it from being too “feminine.” Overall, this scent was refreshing and clean…pure loveliness!
Scent Strength & Scent Throw
I used 2 cubes in a 24W hotplate melter in a large, open space. The scent did not have any problem filling that room with a moderately strong fragrance. The scent did carry on out into other areas nearby, too.
Melt Performance
I ended up getting a lot of mileage from my 100% That Candle wax melt. I used those 2 cubes in my wax melter off and on for a couple of days before I changed it out. I ended up using 1 cube in a tealight melter in a smaller space and it lasted through 2 and a half tealights, easy peasy.
Conclusion
We absolutely loved the 100% That Candle wax melt from Bayou Burns. It was refreshing, long lasting, and unique. We can certainly see getting this one in bulk. They have a ton of other scents we’d like to try first, though, so we’ll be back to report on more!
