First impression of Spiced Oatmeal Cookie:

We’re into the first week of Spring already and here I am melting a spicy bakery scent. My reasoning, it’s cold outside and actually hailing in my neck of the woods – brrrrrr!! Spiced Oatmeal Cookie sounded too warm and cozy to pass up on this cold and blustery day.

Before I continue, I want to point out I purchased these melts through ScentSationals website prior to them closing and announcing they were exclusively selling all their scents at Walmart. What fragrances are sold at your Walmart depends on your store so you may find this fragrance or you might not. Each store varies with what scents they carry.

Scent description for Spiced Oatmeal Cookie is simply stated as, “Just like homemade but better.”  

Doesn’t really tell us much. First impression… the wax smelled like a spicy cake. It was warm and bakery oriented but it was hard to detect oatmeal in the mix. Hoping all those oatmeal cookie notes come to life once the wax was melting. Time to find out!

Melting:

I used the entire clamshell pack (3 cubes each) in 2 electric melters in my great room. It’s a huge room so 2 melters work best for me. Once melting, it took a good 10 minutes before the aroma started drifting through the room and once it did… a warm and spicy bakery filled my great room. To me, this aroma smelled more like a warm spice cake than oatmeal cookies but that’s semantics… I smelled cake, you might smell cookies. The point is, this scent smelled AMAZING!! Super warm, super moist and 100% bakery.  I still wasn’t sure on the oatmeal part but whatever it was, you’ll want to eat the air with a tall glass of milk. It was that kind of bakery.

Also want to mention, my kids came home from school and immediately commented on the scent. I asked them what they thought it smelled like and they both said cookies. So there you go…. cookies it is.

Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate these melts a 10 in any size room. It was a strong fragrance.

Definitely purchase Spiced Oatmeal Cookie  if you see this fragrance at Walmart. I’ll definitely be purchasing more when I do. I loved it!
