Scent: Penny Candy
Type: 2.5oz Clamshell Melts
First Impression of Penny Candy:
So, I’m kind of on the fence with this one. The label showed a colorful assortment of sugary and bright candies (which is great) but that’s not what the wax smelled like to me. The aroma wasn’t sugary or sweet like most candy scents usually are. It did smell like candy but just not what I was expecting.
Smelling the wax… I thought of one type of candy…. Swedish Fish. Remember those? That’s exactly what it smelled like to my nose. I even asked my kids who’ve actually tried Swedish Fish before and they both agreed with me.
I used the entire clamshell pack (3 cubes each) in two electric melters in my great room and it didn’t take long to start noticing the scent soon after. The aroma… a strong candy-like scent that still reminded me of Swedish Fish but kind of took on a synthetic quality I didn’t care for. It was strong but not what I was hoping for. In fact, the aroma became so synthetic, I had to dump the wax after about an hour. Not good. 🙁
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate these melts an 8 in a large room. 10 and above in medium and smaller rooms. It was pretty strong.
Would I purchase this scent again? No. But don’t take my word for it… should you run across this scent, smell it for yourself. Who knows… you may like it.
