Nene’s Kitchen Melts That’s right, I’m pulling out the big guns for this collection of Halloween treats… and Nene’s Kitchen Melts is certainly one of the big guns. Known for their sinfully delicious smelling bakery scents, Nene’s is a natural match for Autumn scenting.
When I went looking for candy corn scents, Nene’s was the first place I thought of.
Candy Corn
“A mix of sugar, sweet honey, and buttery vanilla with a smidgen of sugared orange make up this fantastic Halloween treat”
Caramel Apple

The Spotted Hog The Spotted Hog has a great selection of products and lots of yummy smelling scents. Come for the Halloween scents… stay for the rest of their year round favorites. The single melts are a generous two ounce size and there are jar candles, as well as bakery shaped melts. This is a fun site to browse with so much to see… well worth the trip.
Spider Cider & Deadly Donuts
Spider Cider & Deadly Donuts may not be one of The Spotted Hog’s brand new Halloween scents – They’ve added a bunch more this season – but this has become sort of a classic. This is a scent that is enjoyed all year long, which explains its longevity on The Spotted Hog’s regular scent list. I didn’t smell the spiders in the cider but the donuts were to die for. The cider smells delightful and straight up fruity without being mulled. The cinnamon donut is an equal part of this scent… I smelled it just as strongly as the cider, which was a welcome surprise. This was one of those scents that seemed to change each time I entered the room, like having two scents in one.
I like the smell of hot mulled cider, but I have to say, this less spicy cold apple cider version was wonderful and unexpected. I can see why it’s a favorite on The Spotted Hog’s fall line-up, because this scent rocked and who could resist a name like Spider Cider & Deadly Donuts?

Cozy Cottage Cozy Cottage has been busy in scent kitchen whipping up some Halloween fun. These scents are actually a few of their regular fare that have been given spooktacular names for Halloween… it’s like the scents have put on costumes for the big night.
With great customer service and such pretty presentation, Cozy Cottage is a must try vendor with beautiful, complex scents.
Sweet Scarecrow
Around here, we all love our Granny’s corn casserole. My mother-in-law has been serving up this simple comfort food for years. We look for it at every family gathering. It has corn bread, creamed corn, and some other creamy stuff all baked up warm until the edges get a golden brown. It is awesome… and this scent reminds me of that corn casserole… yet the melt smelled sweeter… more like a dessert than a side dish. I’ll be back for more of this scent. It’s a great new addition for fall this year. If you get the chance, I recommend that you try this scent.
Haunted Heart I believe this scent keeps its name year round, and Haunted Heart is well worth finding. Who would have thought that these three scent notes would work so well together? This masculine, sexy, fresh scent is haunting in its beauty. I enjoyed this scent last fall too and this year’s Haunted Heart is the same as before… a definite staple for Autumn and especially Halloween. This is one of those scents that I stock up on. Its a full moon, late night, sensual kind of scent. It wouldn’t hold the same mystery in the light of day, so I wouldn’t even break one of these babies out until after the sun goes down.
“Top notes of granny smith apples, pears, and black cherries; followed by middle notes of caramel and maple sugar; and rounded out with base notes of buttercream and vanilla.”
I’m a big fan of the Blair Witch Project movie so I had to include this scent. I just love the play on words. Pear Witches aren’t nearly as scary as Blair Witches because, after all, they are covered in caramel. How scary could it be? If it were the Pear Witch Project I wouldn’t be the least bit worried about walking through the woods with a camcorder. Pear Witch Project is Cozy Cottage’s Pearameal scent. This is the cat’s meow, the bee’s knees, the crème de la crème of pear scents. I’m convinced that pears need caramel. I’m seriously thinking about caramel pears on a stick this Halloween instead of caramel apples. Would that be weird? Maybe, but at Halloween, anything goes.
Ghosts in the Graveyard
Ghosts in the Graveyard was a sweet, strong banana marshmallow scent to my nose… a scent that I would get again with no hesitation. There is nothing guilty about the mere smell of Circus Peanuts… I can smell them any time I want.
“This fragrance has strong base notes of ripened apples and oakmoss, made spectacular with a complex blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, orange zests, lemon peel, and a touch of tart lychee berries and coumarin. Unbelievable Mulled Cider.”
Those swamp frogs never had it so good. Here is a mulled cider scent that doesn’t smell like every other mulled cider scents. Cozy Cottage has vamped up their mulled cider scent with Lychee berries, oakmoss, and coumarin, giving this scent a more earthy base and the hint of freshly mown hay. The main sniff is all about the apples and spices of a regular mulled cider, but the little extra touch of earthiness sends this scent to the top of the list for great, complex sniffs.
I know this has got to smell better than any punch made from swamp frogs. Cozy Cottage must have meant that it’s a punch made FOR swamp frogs. If that’s the case, then call me a frog because they really know how to party down there in the swamp. If you’re on the fence about trying yet another mulled cider melt, jump off that log and give this one a try. It is full of surprises. |
Closing to my BIG Halloween scented melt review: I am so ready for Halloween. Autumn is my favorite time of year, and I always want it to last as long as possible. Reviewing all of these great seasonal scents has really gotten me in the mood for Pumpkins, Apple Cider, Candy Corn, Haunted Houses and Hayrides.
Try some of these awesome scents for yourself to get in the spirit of the upcoming holiday season.
Happy Halloween!
