What do you like about Manor? Is it a fresh scent? Yep, I'm being lazy about looking up the description.
Today I finished up the Candledippers Plum Lucious cream soap. Good stuff. Tomorrow morning I'll get to start a Lathers & Lights Honey Blossom scrub (total decadence)
I had Plum Lucious...Bought it based on your recommendation Jules, and it was wonderful!
Here's the description of Manor:
Woody-Vanilla Musk, Vanilla Accord, Glorious Black Agarwood & Exquisite AloeswoodManor is the scent of a once grand estate, now disheveled, forgotten and left exposed to the elements. The faint scent of previous owners and their esteemed guests - exquisitely perfumed ladies mingling with the intense rich and musky scent of smartly dressed gentlemen - meets rich wood floors and heavy wooden doors long since opened, decaying beadboard and Wainscot topped off with a thin layer of dust. It is very sophisticated and absolutely intoxicating.
The scent is sweet, woody and incensey. The black agarwood is literally to die for. On initial application and coldsniff, the agar and aloeswood are a little stronger than they are on the dry down. Manor settles down wonderfully. After hours on the skin it does smell much sweeter due to the vanillas, though the woody/incense element is still detectable.
I had my husband tell me his thoughts before he heard the description, and then after. He rated it a 5 out of 10 beforehand and said it smelled like something was rotting. I gave him a hint and asked if he smelled decaying wood. Yup...He said I hit the nail on the head. AFTER I read him the description, he bumped his rating down to a 4 out of 10 ! Said it wasn't a sexy scent at all, and he didn't really like it. MY OPINION (and the only one that counts when it counts to MY perfumes

)is that Manor is gorgeous. There's more to it than decaying wood. I smell a sultry musk, vanilla, and I even get the whiffs of fine perfume (it's not cloying). You know if it's a Solstice scent, it's going to be different. It is unusual, but in a good way. It's a very grown up scent, it relaxed me, and I would buy it in a perfume and matching body butter.
Edited to add that I would not categorize Manor as a Fresh scent. If you want something a bit more fresh, I would say to try Snowshoe Pass, which I am testing right now.
