I was just sitting at my computer when I felt the building shake like a truck was going by but there was no truck and no sound and it continued for quite a bit longer than a truck would take to go by. I thought, gee, that's odd. I walked into the kitchen to see if the shaking continued there and it did. Finally it stopped and I brushed it off.
A few minutes later my neighbor came by to ask if I felt the shaking as it woke him from sleep. He thought he may have been imagining it.
Checked online and found there had in fact been an earthquake centered in Virginia and it was felt here in the Albany, NY area.
It felt quite odd to have the building shaking with no sound or obvious reason. I have never experienced any sort of an earthquake before this.
Anyone else here feel it? I pray everyone is safe.

Skyebird--so glad you are OK. I have relatives out that way and I am hoping they are alright. So scary, I am sure. I hope all of you that live on the East Coast are safe. My thoughts are with everyone.
Today is the tomorrow that worried you yesterday and all is well.

I live in eastern Virginia and definitely felt it! But it didn't cause any damage here, as far as I know. It sounds like DC is a little shaken up though.

Thank you, trep! It was very minor. I am now reading that the quake here in upper NY was unrelated to the quake in Virginia.

I'm relieved that everyone is okay and damage was only minimal. That is freaky for the East coast.

My brother works in DC and says it was pretty scary. They had to evacuate their building but no one was hurt that he knows about. I'm glad that everyone is OK.
