I mostly do bakery and spice scents from Can-Do. But I just placed an order and threw in a couple of fresh ones, Oklahoma Breeze and Oklahoma Rain. One because I wanted to branch out and try a couple of her fresh scents, and two, I'm from Oklahoma and thought it was neat that there are tarts named after my state. I'm really looking forward to them! BTW, can anyone tell me what the sale prices will be during Donna's sale?

I believe her tarts are going to be priced at .70c instead of $1.00. I think I read that somewhere on here actually.

Donna does have quite a few awesome non-bakery scents. Her Vanilla/Apple is good, Mimi's house, Honeydew (Lessies) and many many more. Good luck and have fun!

Seriously though.... who was Lessie? I seem to remember a vendor that was popular who sold/gave her recipes to Can-Do, and that some of them were just insanely popular. Which ones are just-not-to-be-missed?

Lessie's Birthday Cake- This smells so real!

Lessie's Blueberries & Whipped Cream-Blueberries covered in rich whipped cream...oh man this is good!

Lessie's Cinnamon Rolls- Strong on the cinnamon!

Lessie's Coco-Mint Frost- A little different than most. Wonderful rich combo of creamy coconut and peppermint.

Lessie’s Carrot Cake- spicy home-baked carrot cake covered in rich cream cheese frosting! This will make your mouth water it's so good!

Lessie's Haunted House- Patchouli, pumpkin, secret spices, and the faint scent of popcorn balls in the mix....add it all up and what do you have? HALLOWEEN!!

Lessie's Paradise Island- freshly squeezed lime, tropical fruits, and beautiful fragrant gardenias in the air...close your eyes...it's paradise!

Lessie's Prim Wishes- this scent starts with crisp and sweet top notes of bergamot, that are followed by jasmine blended with patchouli, vanilla, and cedar wood on a bed of amber...absolutely stunning fragrance!

Lessie's Whipped Cream & Honeydew-sweet honeydew melon dipped in luscious whipped cream.....the perfect melon mix!

Stardust, Lessie was the owner of Candle Haven. When she closed up shop, she handed over some of her recipes to Donna. I love many of Lessie's scents but my most favs are Birthday Cake, Paradise Island, and Whipped Cream & Honeydew. That last one is the one I bought so many of one time.

I totally miss Candle Haven but I am glad that Donna carries some of her scents.

Oh Man do I love Can-Do! Looking forward to her sale on Valentine's Day! Not only can we get a special gift by using "Candlefind" but we could also be the big winner to get our entire order free. WOW. I love the parrafin wax, it gives the best throw when in her tin tart pan. I have ordered serveral times and I always receive my order within 10 business days. Donna always keeps her word.

I will be ordering my favorite Mimi's House and Apicy Apples & Peaches, Twilight. I could go on and on but I think it's already been said.

YES YES YES [smilie=snoopy] Debra, I love my stone, its awesome, I don't refresh it alot, just occationally and it keeps its scent really nicely..not STRONG, just subtle and perfect for night time..which is the way I like it!!

Of course I have MANY bakery scents that are either reorders, or that I am planning to order...however, can any of you lovely ladies recommend some that are not...I am not too into florals..more a nice, clean, fresh type of scent. I'm planning on ordering a LOT of tarts next week for the sale.

Thanks!

Cheryl

I so love her Pink Sugar Beans, that one is awesome!! Also her Lemon Lavender is great and Twigs and Berries is fabulous!! Satsuma is to die for, very spring/summery scent and her Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper is yummy yummy!! Fruit Loops is a great one too and Mary's Margaritas is a nice scent!!

As always I highly recommend Mimi's House too..its a staple for me!! And Spa Day she sent me as a sample and its really clean and fresh!!

You really can't go wrong with any of her scents..they are wonderful!!

Ah! Thanks! I could only remember that there was much angst over the possibility of some scents being lost forever. I hadn't heard of Candle Haven before she closed.

I'll have to email her and ask about the "sweet orange and chili pepper...someone else mentioned that one and I did not see it there. Thanks for the suggestions!

I'm pretty well stocked up on Can-Do for now, so I'll have to see if I need anything, but I have to say she is one of my favorite vendors!

Though many of Donna's scents are outstanding, I think perhaps the one that stands out most for me as mandatory for the fall season (and year round, actually) is Lessie's Haunted House. It is one of those scents that repeatedly makes me stop mid track and sniff to see if I can determine what all is in there... popcorn balls, patchouli (which I am normally not a big fan of, but it's so good in here), candy corn, maybe some hot cider... basically everything I imagine around Halloween time! I just merged the Can-Do scent discussion started in The Melting Pot today with this thread. This is exactly the type of dialogue we would love to have for our spotlight threads. Also there is the matter of a contest - better chances of winning! (hint, hint) :)

I've driven through Oklahoma, but since I was on Route 66 I guess I was nowhere near Farmhouse Antiques Home of Can-Do-Candles 1191 HWY 70F
Kingston, OK 73439
Open Fri. & Sat. 10 am to 5 pm, Sun. 1 pm to 5 pm OR
Yesterday's Antiques 701 N. 1st St. Madill, OK 73446 580-795-7775

I guess that means I need to take a detour next time![smilie=th_shewiggle]

I think it's you Stardust who is looking for a "mint coffee" type of scent...well, Donna carries ""mint chip latte" ...maybe that's similiar to what you're searching for? This, like a few of them, are not under scent descriptions, they are under the drop down menu in "tarts". I emailed her and she said that additional scents can be found if you just use the drop down menu. I'm going to give that one a try too!

Thanks for the tip! I wonder if the "chip" means it has the chocolate note to it? I should probably email and ask.

So glad to see Can-Do-Candles featured here! I have been melting Donna's tarts for several years and love them. It was a wonderful surprise to find that she is only about 45 minutes from me, so I have made several trips to Farmhouse Antiques and just love to get to sniff all of her wonderful scents! I have several favorites from her. I think my top 2 are Mimi's House and Birdie's Baklava. I also love her little scent stones. I have one on my desk at work with the Sugar Butt oil and it scents my office really well! If you haven't tried Can-Do you can't go wrong! I love them! [smilie=_smileyfacehugging_]

How nice that she's so close to you! Of course, that could be a bad thing. I suppose it's all in how you look at it. ;)

I love the scent Sugar Butt. Lighter on the scent throw but a very good scent indeed. I don't think I've tried Mimi's House. I'll have to order that one this go-round.

And those scent stones sound ideal for work!

Me too Becky...they sound great and I haven't seen them before.
Mimilu, you are so lucky to live close by....I'd be there every day!!!
Hey did anyone else notice the "shipping facts" page? That cracks me up! Too funny..."I don't know how they can do that but they do... When I buy 1 1/2 lbs. of Apples at the grocery store, I pay for 1 1/2 lbs. Not 2 lbs. Grrrrrr..." [smilie=th_Skratta_Bankabordet]

I found that funny, too!

I must admit that I do like knowing my shipping upfront though. Even with the explanation (which makes perfect sense), I like knowing the bottom line before I move on.

I'm thinking a tart tin is going to hop into my cart this go-round.

Anyone have their list ready for the sale?
