Check with your pharmacy if u have to get a script filled for your pet. I just found out today that my CVS has just started giving pet discounts for scripts filled.
Peanut now has glaucoma, diagnosed in October and is on Asopt eye drops. a 10cc bottle costs $97 but when I went today, they told me about this discount and it was only $54!
thought I would pass it on. They just enter a code and it gives the discount price!
on an aside: I always chuckle because when I pick up the scripts, I just give them my last name and they will say, "this is for Peanut?" sounds so funny coming from a 'people place.'

I also posted this on FB for friends there and one of the gals was mentioning that Walgreens also has a great pet discount and for $20 or $30/yr, u get really deeply discounted prices on any pet med that humans also use. great for a pet that is on long-term meds. Im going to look into that one too.

Susan - we use Costco for a seizure med for one of the dogs. Much less expensive than getting it at the vet. Don't think it is a "pet discount" - just a good price!

What kind of epi-dog do you have? I have a greyhound with seizures, he takes phenobarb and potassium bromide. The pheno I get at a "people" pharmacy, but the compounded pot. bromide is cheapest from Drs. Foster and Smith (online). It was WAY more expensive at the normal pharmacy plus they compounded it into capsules, and DF&S does liquid which is much easier to administer and adjust.

Laurie, our Golden has had seizures for years (after hitting heads running full speed at the dog park with my Greyhound. Unfortunately it caused a series of issues for the Greyhound and she passed away, and the giant big boned Golden developed seizures that were different). Instead of shaking or twitching, it is like he is paralyzed for 2-3 minutes. You can see he is frightened and he can find you by moving his head, but he is otherwise motionless.
