It was four years ago that my dad had itchy skin, and a few issues with his liver. His gall bladder was taken out and he had a shunt put in to drain his liver. He was diagnosed with cancer.
when the drs went in they werent able to find the cancer. God took away the cancer and he was given a jaw drop by the drs. The cancer couldn't be found as it was on the tests. The drs were in disbelief.
Today at 11:30am he will be at the drs again for what seems to maybe the same thing going. Itchy skin, that led to other things as before.
Please pray that its just itchy skin and nothing serious. Please pray for him as he's going to the drs by himself. As my mom just went back to work as a temp for BofA and she can't take time off. Please pray for him,his name is Dennis.
Our God is bigger then anything.
thank you

Crazy4scents, your dad is in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he had some good news after his visit to the doctor.

Your dad will be in my prayers. My dad was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and I know exactly how you're feeling. He has his good days and his bad days. Right now he's been having a good week which is good because my nerves are shot.

At first my dad was in a similar situation to your dad. His metastatic cancer was found long before the primary cancer could be found. The tumor that was biopsied came back as adenocarcinoma but they couldn't determine where it was coming from and the place where it was found is not where a primary site adenocarcinoma could ever be, thus the stage 4 diagnosis. It took his doctors almost 6 weeks to find the primary site. His primary care doctor was arguing with the oncologist because his CT found another metastatic tumor on his kidney which could have been the primary site. After a week or arguing his oncologist sent the first tumor biopsy to Sloan Kettering to rule out kidney cancer because the oncologist was sure this wasn't coming from his kidney and that the kidney tumor was a metastasis.

Did they give your dad a PET scan? This may help them find the primary tumor if his tumor is very small and isn't being picked up on a CT scan. My dad didn't have one of these as the oncologist had a good hunch his cancer was coming from the colon based on the fact that he never had a colonoscopy and the colon doesn't show up well on anything other than a colonoscopy. With a PET scan, the patient is injected with a glucose that is laced with a radioactive isotope. Cancer cells love sugar so they eat up this solution. Whenever there is a big concentration of the glucose, the PET scanner will pick up the radioactivity. This test isn't always specific as inflammation and infections can also cause a concentration of this solution but it's extremely sensitive. Wherever there is metabolic activity (i.e. cancer/inflammation/infection/repair of damaged tissue) this scanner will light up like a Christmas tree.
