We just replaced our (old, cheap quality) steam cleaner with a Ladybug and OMG the difference!

I used to fight with the old one because the extension handles didn't click together firmly, so when I'd lift it to do a tile wall, it would fall apart. [smilie=th_pullhair] It finally did me a favor and died a couple of months ago.

I was aghast at the price on these, but once it showed up and I felt how sturdy it was I could see why all the reviews I'd read raving about it were spot-on. I refer to it as "the Lamborghini" (it's made in Italy). Saying I'm taking the Lamborghini for a spin sounds so much more exciting than "I'm going to clean the floors" [smilie=th_FULL_O17]

Anyone else swear by steam cleaners? We've got wood floors and 2 dogs. I didn't like using Murphy's Oil Soap because to me it seemed to leave a film, but just vacuuming didn't clean well enough.

This one can also do fabrics and other stuff that the old one didn't have the control / attachments to do.

This is an old thread I'm just now seeing but - yes! I love mine. I have a Shark. I do like the clean it does on the tile and marble. I use it occasionally on the wood floors but I don't like the dullness it appears to create. It does clean them well, though.

That Lady Bug cleaner seems very nice. Do you use it on drapery?

I just bought a Shark last month. The other day I told my DH it's the best purchase I've ever made. I can't believe how easy it is and what a fabulous job it does! Half my house is ceramic tile, the other half area rugs and carpet, so I'm just talking about performance on tile. 100% A+++ for me. I do hear they have a reputation for breaking, so my DH, a long time swap meeter, bought a brand new one for $25. Even if it doesn't work, that price is worth it for spare parts. Cyn, how long have you had your Shark? Is it the vacuum and steam one or just the steam? Mine's the latter.

Stardust, I've never heard of a Ladybug steamer. Will have to check it out. Sounds like a big winner for you! [smilie=th_thumbs20up]

Thanks for bringing this forward, Cyn.

I agree about the dullness... I guess that's the tradeoff. I feel the floors are a lot cleaner after the steaming, but using just a dry dustmop doesn't dull them.

I've not used them on drapes yet, only because I've not sewn the pleated drapes for the two windows that would need the drapes steamed, lol! The others I can toss in the washing machine. I do plan to tackle the ottoman that one dog has developed an unfortunate love for over the winter.

Once there's a nice, sunny, hot day I'm going to tackle that out on the deck (so the fabric can dry quickly).

Ha! Let me know how it works on the ottoman. I've got some upholstered pieces that could use a good steam cleaning.
