For all the bird lovers... Here's a link to a fabulous view of a hummer's nest. One little baby hatched this morning, the other is still in the egg. The mother is gorgeous, and so attentive! Have a look see, but be warned - it's almost as addictive as wax! http://cam.dellwo.com/

I'm glad you girls are enjoying this. So delightful and sweet, isn't it?
Aria, the nest is in Orange County, California. I'm not sure of the exact city, but OC is green all year round. So am I, only mine's from jealousy.

Does anyone know what is going on with Pheobe? I went on last night and there were a lot of terrible people saying all kinds of strange things to entertain themselves - stupid - but some people were saying that a lizard was attacking the nest and Pheobe is gone! Only one egg there and she hasn't been back all night. Is any of this true? This is very sad.

Maggie, everything seems to be okay. Apparently the lizard never got to the eggs. If you go to this link http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/5495849 and scroll over to the 57 minute mark you'll see the lizard trying to get to the eggs. There's apparently a big off screen confrontation between Phoebe and the lizard, but Mama Phoebe won and knocked the lizard to the ground.
The eggs were unharmed. Then around the 1 hour mark, Phoebe quickly flies in and takes one of the eggs out. People speculate she moved it to a different nest. (The FAQ page says she has 4 nests in the rosebush and alternates between them.) Other people speculate that the egg wasn't fertile.
So it looks like things are fine, although the egg that's still in the nest hasn't hatched. Maybe it isn't viable either. Maybe the male she mated with is sterile.
