I thought it might be interesting to see what you all think of the jar candles out there. I could only list a few, so please post a reply for others.

Thank you.

Gold Canyon for me. They have stronger throws than any other candle I've ever tried. In all honesty I haven't tried some of the choices though. My SH candle throws pretty darn well too.

No Colonial Candle? :P

I chose Yankee, of course. Not because they are the strongest, but because I still think the fragrances are the most authentic, and I love the look of the jars and labels.

Me too Jason, there is nothing more beautiful than a glowing YC jar. The labels are gorgeous!!!

I have not tried LOL, but I am not a fan of any of the others on the list. My favorite candles come from Cheryl's and Busy Bee, especially her woodwicks.

bigred,

I don't know much about Colonial beyond their melts, votives, and tart melters which I have three of. What is your take on them?

Out of all those great choices, I picked PI. But I would check Candles by Victoria if it were there. [smilie=th_LA839B1117]

I agree. I love her jars. I don't care for YC at all. Never have had any luck with them so I quit buying from them long ago

I think Pure Integrity 16 ounce in Vanilla and Maple are the best. I will be ordering MORE come fall.

I haven't had luck with a couple of others from them but those 2 are great.

Any suggestions for me from the PI fans? I am looking for STRONG scents.

Cisley,

I like Pure Integrity's Papaya Passion, Lemon Meringue Pie, Almond Vanilla, and of course Vanilla. They are strong and live up to their name. I also like Raspberry Lemonade which is a new scent this spring, but it isn't as strong. In their description of it they do say the scent is moderate. The throw isn't quite as good either. I hope that helps a little.

I liked the Raspberry Lemondade clamshells I got. I thought they were reasonably strong.

I will try Lemon Meringue and Papaya Passioin in clamshells first.

I tried the Almond Vanilla and it didn't do a thing.

Thank you, Denny.

Jules and Jonnea:

Are Candles by Victoria strong with a great throw? I have never tried any of those products so I'd really be interested in knowing.

Thanks!!!

Cisley,

Might I add that I have found PI's melts to be stronger and have a better throw than their candles, which is often the case with other suppliers as well. So I just wanted to clarify that in my previous post I was referring to jar candle strength and throw.

I hope you like Papaya Passion and Lemon Meringue Pie.

I've only tried Victoria's tarts so far but those are AWESOME. I plan on trying a jar candle with my next order.

I have been very happy with the throw and the burn of CBV's candles. Most of the scents I've tried are strong and all of the candles get a good deep melt pool with no tunneling. Can't ask for more than that.

My favorite size is the 16 oz. Country Jar style on page 1 of the candles section. Last time I got the six pack of those(pg 2) , but they were on sale at the time.

I like CBV Tropical scents or the bakery scents the most. Some favorites are Jamaican Vacation, Paradise Bay, and the Iris & Fern is beautiful. Cafe' Au Lait smells great cold. I haven't burned it yet.

I've also tried two of the Comfort candles. The Key LIme Lemon Crumb Cake was stronger than the Caramel Gingered Apple Crisp, but both were good.

I like lots of Pure Integrity scents. My favorites, though, are Woodstock and First Bloom and Plumeria.

That new lemonade scent sounds like a good one too.
