Roast Beef/Pot Roast with Brown Gravy

I made this for dinner last night and it's so yummy! It's not gourmet but has a gourmet flavor to it.

Roast beef, patted dry and any excess fat trimmed
Salt and pepper for seasoning
1 TBSP. of olive oil for browning (not necessary but it gives the meat a beauitful color)
1/2 package of brown gravy
1/2 package of ranch dressing
1/2 package of italian dressing
3/4 cup of water
If you want, you can add some veggies to the pot too.

I made this in my crockpot but since there isn't much liquid in it, I'm not sure how it would work in the oven. If you cook it in the oven, you'll most likely need 1+ cups of water.

Pat the roast beef dry. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to season the meat. Get a pan screaming how. Put in the olive oil. Add the meat and brown. While the meat is browning, mix together the gravy and dressings with the water. Put the browned beef into the crockpot. Pour the gravy/dressing sauce over the meat. Cook on LOW until it reaches your desired doneness (8 hours for shredded meat, 5-6 for sliceable meat). I cooked mine on HIGH for 2 hours because I started it in the afternoon. I didn't want to shread it so after 2 hours it was perfect. To shred it, it would probably need 3-4 hours on HIGH. The gravy is a little bit salty, so you can dilute it with a little bit more water if you would like but the gravy wont be as thick. Make sure you have lots of bread to soak up the gravy!

Sounds great LLVV... I always like a good crock pot recipe. We are a busy family. The crock pot is a great way to have a good meal with minimal fuss. Thanks for posting! I will try to post some tried and true recipes soon.
