I am not sure if this is categorized as a Christmas movie... but it takes place around the holidays...

Love Actually

I really can't choose just one!

Others include Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Holiday Inn.... to name a few! [smilie=th_m4t3zo4]

I like Love, Actually. I loved droll Bill Nighy in that.

I also like Bridget Jone's Diary for Christmas even though it's not an offical one either.

My favorite had got to be National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase.

A CHRISTMAS STORY!!!!!

If you haven't seen it yet, just turn on TBS any time Christmas Day; they have it on constantly for at least 24 hours.

Love Actually is also very charming! [smilie=th_m4t3zo4]

I am also a big fan of A Christmas Story. I watch it at least once every year. Darren McGavin's character never fails to make me laugh.

I love Christmas movies! I'm with Jules; my absolute favorite is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I also like A Christmas Story, Christmas With the Kranks and Jingle All The Way. Planes, Trains and Automobiles takes place during Thanksgiving, but I really like it so I think it deserves an honorable mention. [smilie=th_avatar_4219]

Not to be unoriginal, but A Christmas Story is my favorite. I grew up with it and it's become such a yearly tradition, I can't imagine the holidays without it. "Deck the harrs with boughs of horry, ra ra ra ra ra, ra ra ra ra!"

My kids and I crack up every year now watching "Elf" with Will Ferrell. Yes, it's pretty silly, but it's really cute.

I like Elf, too. DH knows it pretty well because he's the oldest of 7 and his younger siblings really like it. So cute!

[smilie=th_slider_flirt] Good one Mr. Jason!
We bought that movie last year and we watched it the day after Thanksgiving.

I just posted on the other movie thread too.

Christmas vacation gets the boot. I forgot about my absolute fav.

Desk Set is my No. 1. holiday movie of all time.

It's so much fun to watch. The apartment scene after the rain makes me laugh every single time I see it.

Thanks Tarthound. So many funny scenes in that movie.

Jules, I have not heard of this Desk Set. Maybe will have to get it from Netflix.

I like The Grinch. Both the animated version, and the one with Jim Carrey. I also like Elf starring Will Farrell.
