Just finished the new John Grisham book, Calico Joe. This was a good story, even if you're not a huge baseball fan. Now I'm reading Three Weeks to Say Goodbye by C.J. Box.

Recapping from February, I couldn't get into "Of Human Bondage." I just started Victor Hugo's "Les Miserables." It's HUGE, with nearly 1400 pages! And it's a hardback, so it probably weighs as much as my dog, who's 32 pounds. [smilie=th_thlaughter] Anyway, I'm on page thirtysomething and am already really liking it. Anybody read this gigantic monument?

I just finished The Witness by Nora Roberts. I really enjoyed this one. Currently reading another Nora Roberts-The Next Always.

Gail, I've never read Les Miserables, but yikes, 1400 pages! I did see the musical several years ago. Anyhow, Good Luck! Actually, the book I'm reading now is 900+ pages come to think of it!
The title is The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. My sister is letting me borrow her copy. It's a soft cover, but still very weighty. I've only read about 100 pages so far and enjoying it.

"Les Miz" is quite a project, Aria. I'm only on page 150 or so, but I'm really enjoying it. I'm inspired by a friend of mine who's read the original version by Hugo - in French! [smilie=th_1_bigone110]

You've got quite a project there too, Aria. I've wanted to read POTE but haven't gotten around to it yet. Saw the mini-series though, and really liked it. I bet the book is terrific!

Haven't been on here much, but wanted to reach out and recommend a few of the really good ( in my opinion ) books I've read over the past four or so months. I have read at least three times as many books as those listed, but these were the ones that I enjoyed the most.


The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce So GOOOOOOD !
The Lost Wife by Alyson Richman
The Lower River by Paul Theroux Must read more by this author...great storyteller!
Home by Toni Morrison
The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty Very enjoyable and engrossing book
The Cove by Ron Rash
The Healing by Jonathan Odell Easily the best book I have read this year ! Read it !
