Autumn is almost here. I like to start early. As soon as school starts, I'm ready for fall. What are your favorite "almost fall" scents? Are you all about the apples or do you dive into pumpkins as soon as possible?

Here's a poll just for fun.

I love summer.

For me it is summer and beach as long as it goes.

After that Apple or Pear- like Yankee's Golden Pear.

I dont do bakery, but my autumn faves are YC Autumn leaves.

This is the perfect time for what I call my "transitional" scents...before I go all out with the pumpkin and leaves, but after I've grown tired of the fresh scents of summer. I'm using apple scents more, fruit scents with some spice mixed in like Farmer's Market, Kitchen Spice and Golden Spiced Pear. It won't be long until I really break into my fall scents like Autumn Wreath and Autumn Leaves, though.

For us, summer weather lasts until November. Once school starts, I feel like fall should be here, so I trick myself with apple/cider scents, and candles like Slatkin's Leaves.

I love the fall scents! I usually melt apple scents all year long but when the kids go back to school I really start on heavier bakery (pumpkin/cinnamon). I love when I walk through the door and it smells so yummy and so cozy.

I love fall, it's my favorite season however I can't stand overly spicy or apple-y scents as those make me sick. Clove is the worst for me. So I prefer to melt sweet bakery, bread and other fruity scents. I can take a bit of cinnamon or warm spices but only as a background-note. I love cranberry though

I usually try to melt summer scents as long as I can. I love summer. I hate to see it leave but....I do like fall, less than summer but it is a nice time of transition. This time of year I find myself gravitating to apple scents but apple only, no cinnamon or spices.

I find during transition from summer to fall I tend to go for fresher blends of leafs and greenery, and then also fruit, citrus, and fruit desserts such as cobblers.

In fact, my upstairs area is normally decorated in a country French wine/leaf/grape theme, and this theme is exactly what hits the spot for me even scent-wise. I'm going to be putting up my summer/beachy decorations this weekend and going to my regular scheme for a while until it seems appropriate to drag out the heavy duty Autumn and Halloween decorations.

Apple scents tend to make me a little sick. I went through lots of nausea on fall due to some medication I was taking at the time, and my favorite apple scents I had going somehow got associated with that misery in later years. I'm just now getting to where I can stand apple scents!

Apple--straight apple--used to be my pre-Autumn scent of choice but now it tends to bother my sinuses. So, I am going with the bread/cookie scents plus apple mixed with spices and dough--like Baked Apple Strudel, Apple Pie or something like that.

By the way, Jules, great idea for a poll and topic. [smilie=kewl]

Good to see you, Jason--where have you been???

I try to keep the summer scents going as long as possible but this is the time of year I start popping those bakery rich scents in more often! Love the apples, pumpkins and breads! :)

Bakery, breads, sweets are all my fall scents. I don't like clove, cinnamon (unless a light background note, ala Cinnamon Sugared Donuts from Slatkin), or "leaves" type scents. Actually, this carries through to Christmas as I'm not a fan of pine scents. I add mint scents for winter.

Where I live in California it is nearly the same temperature all year. Maybe this is why my scents don't vary widely from season to season.

Can anyone recommed good Pear scent?

Does not have to be overly spicey. Something like discontinued Yenkee Orchard pear.

I really love Crosscreek's Spiced Pear...but it smells almost exactly like Yankee's Spiced Pear...I'm not really sure of the scent of Orchard Pear so I can't really help on that. [smilie=th_sorry_]
