Need some advice from you candle experts. First, I want to order CANDLES, not melts.

So how do these companies do for CANDLES and throw, and what great scents have you had success with???

I'm burning a jelly jar style candle from Sugar & Spice right now. It's Chocolate Chip Cookies & Milk. Love the scent. The candle is burning well. Full melt pool, no visible soot. I can't judge throw. It's an old candle and I've got melts going in the same room. My super strong melts are overpowering the candle throw at the moment.


I had a candle from Tara's but gifted it to a friend. The scent, Biolage, was not for me, although others really like it.

I don't do much in the way of candles anymore, and when I do, it's almost exclusively Morenci. I did order a candle from Tara's once, tho, in Biolage. Now I LOVE LOVE LOVE her Biolage tarts. I was, however, very disappointed with that same scent in a candle. It had a weird jet-fuel smell to it. I wrote her about it, and she said she'd get back to me, which she never did. A long amount of time went by and I messaged her again. She said she made one and burned it and didnt' smell that, but her friend did, and that was that. She never offered to replace it, or do anything to make it right. So I would definately NOT recommend Tara's for ordering candles.

I have burned candles from both companies and thought both were OK - neither were my favs for candles as far as scent throw. They did have a clean burn...the one from TCC was a bit lower maintenance to me than the Sugar & Spice candle. I also love the Chocolate Chip Cookies & Milk scent from Sugar & Spice. I've had no customer service issues with either company.

Small company favorites are LOL, SH and Blue Moon. I also like some Pure Integrity Candles. For some of the bigger brands, I like Bluewick, Yankee, Gold Canyon, Village and Candle Marketplace. I have a love/hate relationship with the B&BW candles. HTH.
