Harvest Party WoodWick Scented Candle Review
By Christina Rylan
Type: Large 22oz candle
Fragrance: Harvest Party
Scent Strength: Medium
Introduction to my review:
I love WoodWick candles. They’re different and fun to burn. Not only do you get amazing fragrances but also some pretty cool sound effects.
I got lucky and hit a great sale on some large candles I wanted to review. We don’t have many WoodWick reviews listed on Candlefind so I’m hoping to change that with many more to come this year. You can purchase WoodWick candles directly from Virginia Candles website or a variety of other wholesale retailers that carry this brand – so lots of buying choices when deciding where to order.
Wanted to note… looks like this company changed their website domain again so don’t let that confuse you if and when you search for them… it’s now “Virginia Gift Brands“. I don’t know why they do that… this is the second name change that I know of. It used to be Old Virginia, then plain Virginia Candle now Virginia Gift Brands. It’s kind of confusing but they must have their reasons….
Back to the candle I’m reviewing… Harvest Party. This scent is newly launched this year and it sounded right up my alley.
What did my Harvest Party Candle look like?
I love the look of WoodWick candles. The hourglass shape, the gorgeous wood lids, the sleek and simple labeling… and let’s not forget the cool wood wicks. My harvest party candle had a new style wick in the shape of a cross – all the candles I’ve tried in the past had a single thin type wick. My candle was 22oz – the wax color a pretty pumpkin orange.
What did my Harvest Party candle smell like?
This candle smelled amazing when I first popped open the lid… a total “harvest party” of delicious fall scents. I had no regrets buying this candle.
Scent description for this fragrance:
“The best of the harvest season with juicy mandarin, red apple peel, sugared pear, and firewood accord.”
Very nice! I could smell all of the elements in the description perfectly with nothing standing out more than the other. The red apple and mandarin, the pear and firewood accord for sure… all of it and all blended perfectly creating a magical fall scent. LOVED!
Scent strength: Awesome! I’ve found many WoodWick candles to give off a medium to light scent throw. This candle held its own in my large bedroom and we’re talking a 400 square foot room. So, great and steady scent throw through the life of the candle. And let’s not forget the sound effects. SO cool!! The sound isn’t really a crackling fire… to me, it’s more like a blow torch sound or wind blowing through a narrow piece of glass with crackling sounds here and there. It’s so different and unique. A must experience if you haven’t tried one yet.
Two thumbs up!
How did my Harvest Party candle burn?
This candle burned perfect! I love wood wicks… they are so easy to maintain. Before lighting each morning, I would use my scissors to trim the wick down (you’ll know how much because it will only trim so far) and then light. It burned clean and even, no wasted wax at all.
Want to note, I burned my candle from morning till late evening so during the day, I did have to trim the wood wick every so often… if you don’t, it becomes a torch.
Closing to my review:
I loved this candle and would definitely buy it again – and not just for fall… it’s a perfect fragrance to burn pretty much any time. It’s not too heavy or spicy and has just enough sweetness to make it a year round fragrance. You’ll see what I mean when you smell it.
WoodWick candles are really cool and something you should try and least once. My family loves them and always comments on these candles whenever I have one burning.
Happy candle hunting!

I believe this is a newer fragrance not out very long and it's amazing! The best fall scent I have ever smelled. I hope to see more reviews of this brand. I don't see as many as I had hoped.
