First impression of Peach Meringue:
First impression….. DELICIOUS!! Seriously. I popped off the lid, smelled the wax and immediately went back to Bath & Body Works site to purchased one more before their sale ended. The wax smelled like the sweetest peaches and cream. Mouthwatering and 100% edible.
Here is the scent description from the bottom of the candle:
Fresh peach nectar, golden apricot, juicy nectarine, whipped vanilla.
Apricot! That’s what I was smelling. Sweet and juicy apricot with peaches and vanilla. My nose wasn’t detecting nectarine but who knows… maybe that component will come to life once the candle was burning.
Time to find out!
I lit this candle in my large master bedroom and waited for the magic to begin. Once the wicks were lit, it took roughly 10 minutes to really start noticing the aroma and once I did…. a perfect blend of every element in the above scent description filled my bedroom. Sweet peaches, apricot and tart nectarine on a bed of creamy vanilla. It was a perfect spring scent. I loved it!!
Strength – I would rate this candle a 7 out of 10 in a very large room. 10 and above in a medium to smaller rooms so if strength is important to you, stick to a medium sized room for the best scent throw.
This candle burned great up until the halfway mark and then the wicks fizzled out causing the candle to burn unevenly for the rest of the duration. Classic issue with this brand.
Closing to my review:
I loved Peach Meringue and hope this candle sticks around for years to come. I’ll definitely continue to purchase it each year. Just imagine a perfect blend of sweet peaches, juicy apricots and nectarines on a bed of creamy vanilla. It was so sweet and yummy!!
The only negative to this experience was how this candle burned once it reached the halfway mark. That’s when the wick defect always happens specifically with this brand, and it REALLY frustrates me. These candles aren’t cheap considering they recently raised their prices again. A White Barn candle at regular price is now $24.50 and at that price, every candle should burn perfectly. Every. Single. One!! So to say that I’m frustrated is an understatement.
I do have one more candles in this scent so we’ll see how the next one burns. Will revise this review if that candle performs normally. We shall see….
And now, where to purchase Peach Meringue if you’re interested in one? If you don’t see it on Bath & Body Works website right now, try one of their stores which tends to carry more scents than online. It wasn’t that long ago I purchased this fragrance.
Happy candle hunting!
Burn Performance: 1/5
Overall Rating: 3.5/5
Note – this candle still rates high because it met most of the criteria we look for when reviewing a candle. Presentation was great, the scent matched the description and the strength was decent. It got dinged for burn performance only. Otherwise, this candle would have rated 5 stars across the board.
