First impression of Island Coconut Lime:
Island Coconut Lime was a scent right up my alley. Lime and coconut were practically made for each other so you know this candle was destined to smell good. Once I popped off the lid, I noticed citrus lime the most with very little coconut. Regardless, it was fresh and I couldn’t wait to light it up.
Here is the scent description from Walmart’s website:
Freshly fallen, cracked coconut fruit blended with the zesty brightness of island lime fused with sweet sugarcane and a hint of vanilla.
Again, I don’t smell a whole lot of coconut in this fragrance. To me, this candle was all island lime with sweet vanilla and sugar. I’m hoping the coconut element will come to life once the candle is burning. Time to find out!
I lit this candle in my small powder room to start out. Once the wick was lit, it took a good hour to reach a full melt pool and from then on out… fresh lime, coconut and sugar filled my powder room. The coconut was really light but definitely there. To me, this scent smelled more like zesty lime with sugar and vanilla. I liked it, I just wish more creamy coconut would have been present.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7/8 in a really small room. It actually gave a pretty decent scent throw for a small room. If you try a medium size room, try burning two candles or if you find this scent in melt form, that would be even better.
This candle burned great. No wick issues. Clean burning from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
This was a nice and fresh citrus lime that I did enjoy. If you love coconut lime scents and are searching for a candle in a pinch and for a great price… go smell Island Coconut Lime from Better Homes next time you’re at Walmart. You may walk away with one.
