Scent Strength: Light
Introduction to my review:
I’m still really impressed with all the great fragrances Better Homes and Gardens released this year. Such a nice variety of scents to choose from and the prices of course are amazing. I paid less than $6.00 for this candle. Keep in mind, these aren’t the strongest candles compared to more expensive brands but if you stick to burning them in small rooms, they’re perfect and perform quite nicely.
When I first popped open the lid to smell this candle, I was surprised how much I liked it. I’m not a huge fan of eucalyptus scents but this fragrance was not your average eucalyptus … it wasn’t a “Vicks” kind of mint either but more of an herb garden kind of mint. Very nice and refreshing.
What did my candle look like?
These candles resemble classic Yankee apothecary jars. The size candle I purchased was 13oz – the wax color a sage green and my candle had one wick perfectly centered in the candle.
What did my candle smell like?
“This irresistibly fresh scent opens with bursts of spearmint, lemon zest and golden grapefruit with an aromatic heart of rosemary, eucalyptus and geranium. A base of white woods, patchouli and vanilla further exudes a fresh experience.”
That’s quite the description and I would have never guessed half of what’s in that. I knew based off cold sniff this wasn’t just a plain eucalyptus scent… that was obvious – but lemon and grapefruit, patchouli and vanilla? Interesting and sounds pretty complex…
I burned this candle from beginning to end and the entire time I had it burning, I tried to figure out what this scent smelled like the most. Final thoughts were spearmint, teeny hits of eucalyptus and patchouli. I didn’t smell lemon, grapefruit or geraniums but it could be my nose just couldn’t pick up on those. This was definitely a complex scent and really different. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Strength – As with all Better Homes and Gardens candles, I stuck to a small power room to burn this candle in. The scent throw was perfect and gave a subtle but steady throw. It was light but perfect for a small room.
My candle burned great. No wick issues, no wasted wax and a clean and even burn from beginning to end. These candles burn really slow.
Closing to my review:
I really enjoyed this candle. It was fresh and minty but with a touch of sophistication making it a far from boring scent. I quite liked it and plan on purchasing a few more before they’re gone for the season. These candles are so reasonably priced making them hard to resist.
This fragrance is pretty light so keep that in mind when purchasing it. It performs best in smaller rooms. At least it did for me.
Happy candle hunting!

Now this candle I loved. So unique and very fresh and minty. I've already purchased a few and love it every time I burn a new one. I hope Better Homes keeps this one around for a long time.
