This scent is described as:

"A duplicate of the popular BBW fragrance, featuring the beautiful watery floral scent of Cherry Blossoms surrounded by accents of jasmine, cyclamen, and lily. Leafy greens and nuances of Italian bergamot add freshness to the scent, with smooth undertones of orchid vanilla, sandalwood and musk."

I chose this fragrance, not because it is a BBW dupe, but because the name sounded like a good floral for winter months. Florals don't have to be relegated to Springtime, but Winter florals definitely need a lighter touch. Otherwise, the kids would get one whiff and want to color Easter eggs in December. It upsets the whole seasonal balance... but I'm getting off track.

Some florals are so strong and perfumy that you feel like The Wizard of Oz's Dorothy in the poppy field...passed out cold and wishing for a snowstorm. I often hear about heavy florals causing headaches or triggering allergies. As much as I personally love strong florals, if I want to put a fresh flower scent out while entertaining, I need to be careful not to overpower anyone. White Cherry Blossom is the type of light floral that can beautifully scent a powder room without offending even the most sensitive noses.

White Cherry Blossom has delicate floral overtones with a quieter woody background. I couldn't pick out any particular variety of flower...just a simple, pleasant bouquet. I've got to tell you, though, it was a late bloomer - so to speak. It started out faint and even though there was a melt pool right away, the scent didn't fully develop until a couple of hours into the burn. Once the scent got going, it stayed steady for the entire day.

Spice Cake

Here is the Northwest Soy's description:

"The enticing aroma of a freshly-baked cake mingles with cinnamon, cloves, ginger and nutmeg to create this classic holiday favorite."

It was love at first sniff. Spice cake is my favorite cake flavor... not from scratch, mind you... I'm talking about the box cake mix (even I can bake one of these). Every birthday, my first choice is spice cake, and this scent smelled just like a cake were fresh from the oven.

I smelled a smooth blend of nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, allspice and cake. Even with all of these spices, it wasn't sharp, and I didn't smell any icing... just a warm baked cake with far more pizzazz than a plain white cake.

I had this candle burning in front of my kitchen sink, which was good placement on my part as I kept cleaning dishes just to be near this Spice Cake candle. O.K. That's an exaggeration... nothing short of chains would keep me in front of the sink for any length of time. But it was next to my sink and each time I passed this candle, I got a nice dose of warm yumminess. I left this scent on all day and while it became richer smelling as it melted, it had a steady medium throw. This was the strongest of the three scents I tried and I was really happy with it.

Cappuccino Mocha

Northwest Soy described this one as:

"Coffee, sweet cocoa and warmed milk come together in this fabulous gourmet coffee favorite."

I enjoy both coffee and chocolate scents, and I saved this one for last thinking it would be the strongest of the three. I lit the travel tin and the votive first thing in the morning. I was surprised at how lightly scented they were so I melted the tart too, all together in the same room. I tried every configuration of burning and melting but I just could not pick out the coffee at all - not even up close. The mocha was there but it was a watery thin smell. Like the other scents, I let this one go all day long, and even tried again the next day, but it never delivered the rich coffee smell I had hoped for.

To make sure it wasn't just me, I asked for my husband's opinion. He wisely stays quiet about my scents de jour, but i cornered him on this one...he agreed with me of course, so I still don't know what he thought of it. That reminds me...I need to send some flowers to my mother-in-law. She raised a smart fella.
