Ahhh Votivo.  Isn't there just something about a luxury candle?  I feel like I should be lounging around eating bon bons and getting a pedicure when I burn these candles.  Votivo is one of my go to brands when I want to splurge on myself or for a nice gift because these candles are just so beautiful!  I was out shopping early this Fall and saw a display of the holiday scents.  After sniffing away (the staff must have thought I was nuts!) I decided on Joie De Noel.

What Does My Joie De Noel Candle Look Like?

My candle is a 7.3 ounce round glass container.  The glass is very thick and heavy.  There's a small piece of twine wrapped around the candle held in place by a silver circle stamped with a "V". The wax is a creamy off white.

Now, let's talk about the box.  A big reason to buy Votivo is the box, it's a gift in itself! It's a beautiful Christmas red with a green square and a silver foil square in front. This is a gift you can be confident in giving.

What Does My Candle Smell Like?

The official description for this scent is:

"The scent of evergreens such as fir and spruce combined with spices such as frankincense and myrrh."

WOW!  This is a truly upscale scent.  I was looking for an evergreen scent that didn't smell like Pine-sol and was just different enough...but still said Christmas.  I have found it!! This definitely smells like evergreen, but the spices give it an edge that makes it far more sophisticated than pine.  No tree shaped air freshener here at all.  This scent is very complex and decadent.

I would rate the strength of this fragrance a medium.  It fills the room it's in but not beyond, and the scent is not overpowering.

My candle burned well. The wick did need to be trimmed as usual, but there was no smoke or soot and no wax hang up.

Overall Opinion Of My Candle and Votivo:

I don't regularly spend $26.00 for any candle, let alone a 7.3 ounce candle, but on some occasions it's a nice thing to do.  On those occasions, Votivo is a brand I will buy again.  I have had good experiences with them, and let's face it, if I'm spending $26 on a candle I want to be pretty sure it will be a good one.

This scent is amazing and something I will consider picking up again for the holidays. It is a perfect holiday scent.
