Fall is finally here! My family recently relocated from Southern California to the Mid West and I am so excited to see Fall.  This has always been my favorite time of year, even with the limited seasonal changes we had in Southern California.  The brisk air, leaves falling and cooler temperatures have always been a little shot of Heaven to me so I am really looking forward to what living in a place where the seasons change will bring.

Part of Fall for us candle lovers is burning and melting our favorite Fall scents.  I know I look forward to the candle makers putting out their Fall and holiday line of fragrances. One of my all time favorite fragrances is Apples N Oak from Village Candle.  From the first time I smelled it I was hooked.  I am really, really cheap though, so I have never actually bought the real thing.  Until now!  I had the opportunity to review this special fragrance for CandleFind, so I went ahead and took the plunge.

What Does My Apples N Oak Jar Candle Look Like?

My candle is a 26 oz square jar from their premium line.  They carry this fragrance in both their premium and regular lines and I'm not sure what the difference is.  This candle is double wicked and the jar is a really neat square.  The wax is a deep apple red color. There is a nice picture of apples and acorns on the front.

What Does My Apples N Oak Jar Candle Smell Like?

"Awesome!" is how the founder of our company describes this, his favorite fragrance.  You'll just have to try it and let us know if you agree with him."

Since that isn't much help, I'll have to do my best.  Apples N Oak to me smells just like what it says.  I can smell a deep, fresh apple scent and it's tempered by a sweet, earthy wood scent.  My dad was a wood worker by trade and always made things at home. When I was little we had a workshop in our garage and I remember the scent of the wood and the sawdust very well.  This smells like piles of fresh cut wood and apples.  This is such a unique scent to me and I can't get enough of it.

I lit this candle in my office and within 30 minutes it had filled the room and most of the upstairs with this wonderful scent. I give it an A+ for throw, this sucker threw like mad.  The scent strength was medium in my opinion.  It was subtle enough that you wouldn't immediately know there was a candle burning, just sort of a something smells good in here feeling.

I think it has something to do with the shape of the container, but despite the two wicks I still had some wax on the edges.  The far corners that weren't near the wicks just had a hard time and never melted completely.  I had to push the warm wax down with my wick dipper.

As long as I kept the wicks trimmed I had no problem with smoke or soot.

Overall Opinion of My Apples N Oak Jar and Village Candle:

I love Village Candle and especially this scent.  The customer service was great.  I typed in the wrong expiration date for my credit card and they contacted me right away to straighten it out.  My candle shipped promptly and was well packaged.  I do think their shipping is a little high, but it would not deter me from purchasing from them in the future.  I will probably buy the round jar next time though.
