 Introduction to my Valente Lane Candles Review:
Valente Lane Candles is an e-tailer that's all about choice. The site is owned by a gal named Charlena, a very nice lady who I can tell is interested in pleasing her customers. She currently offers candles in palm or soy wax in two different jar styles and travel tins as well as the choice of your jar being free of a label and totally clear. I thought that was a great idea considering not everyone likes labels on their candles.
There are 88 scents listed on this site. Names such as, A Pirate's Love and  Sunshine Through The Trees. Her scent list just begs to be explored making you want to click on every name to see what the description is to each cleverly named scent.
Valente Lane's web site is very visually appealing with a clean and well finished look. It's very easy to navigate and I could look at it all day. It's just a really nice site.
I decided to go out of my usual bakery comfort zone and chose some scents with a fruity feel to them. I chose Cedarwood & Lime, Grapefruit & Watermelon and Just Peeled Apples.

What do my candles from Valente Lane look like?
Ceaderwood & Lime is a 9 oz balmoral jar with a lime green wax, Grapefruit & Watermelon is a 16 oz metro jar with a dark pink wax and Just Peeled Apples is an 8 oz metro jar with red wax. All my candles were soy wax with the exception of Just Peeled Apples which was palm.
All my candles were double wicked. |
What Do My Candles from Valente Lane Smell Like?
Cedar wood & Lime:

 "Men love this scent. It's mixed with the nice sharp smell of cedarwood, but it is tamed with the citrus sweet aroma of lime."
I lit this little 9 oz candle in my living room because on cold  sniff it seemed strong enough to do the job. Man, I was not disappointed! This is a strong scent with an amazing throw. It filled my living room with fragrance and what a fragrance it is! I smelled the lime for sure but it was a more mellow scent than a straight lime. I didn't smell the cedar right out in front but I'm guessing that's what made it more mellow than a straight citrus. I absolutely love this scent.
Grapefruit & Watermelon:

 "Grapefruit is a distinct scent, very powerful, but think how it will liven up your senses mixed with the delicious fragrance of watermelon, very enticing summer smell!"
I love both grapefruit and watermelon so I was really  intrigued by this scent. It's also not one I have seen before so I was doubly intrigued and had to smell it. I was totally chomping at the bit and couldn't wait to try this scent so it's no wonder I lit it as soon as the package came. I lit this in my office a little worried that it would overpower the room, it smelled so strong cold.
Before this candle even had a full melt pool it was scenting the room. By the time the melt pool was complete, I had to move it down into the kitchen. This is a power-packed scent!! I smell more watermelon than grapefruit, but the grapefruit is definitely there. It's sweeter than a straight grapefruit and tarter than a straight watermelon. This is a great scent combo and another A+ scent in my opinion.
Just Peeled Apples:
Scent Description:
"The tart aroma of freshly-peeled juicy apples on a hot summer's day!"
This candle was scent to me in their palm wax. For some reason I have been on a real apple kick lately and knew I had to smell this version. Charlena warned me that this is only a medium strength scent and not to be disappointed in it. I lit this one in my master bath due to the size and her warning.
This is a very good version of an apple scent. It didn't pack the punch of the other two scents, but I knew it wouldn't. It's a medium scent with a decent throw and it filled my master bath with a light scent of apples. It was very much like standing next to the apples in the produce aisle. You can smell them and they are yummy, but it isn't overpowering. |
How Did My Candles Burn?
My candles burned evenly and with no wick problems. I didn't see any soot, but I did keep my wicks trimmed. |
Overall Opinion Of My Candles and Valente Lane Candles:
I really, really like Valente Lane. The candles are very pretty and presented in a professional way, the site is easy to use and she has some really interesting  scents. Her prices are fair and shipping is reasonable. I will buy from her again, there are a few more scents I HAVE to try!!
