 Introduction To my Pineridge Scents review:
Pineridge Scents Candle Co is an adorable prim/country style website offering many unique candle products I think any candle connoisseur would appreciate. Wax products are available in her famous loaf pans, container candles, votives or melts so there's a bit of something for everyone, especially if you love "country" style candles. The scent list is pretty small but I think that's okay and will grow over time. The quality however of her bakery scents makes it worthwhile.
Allicca, the owner of Pineridge Scents is a true pioneer. She's willing to try new things  and has a winner of an idea with her refill candles. These come in a loaf pan, either large or small that she hand paints and decorates herself so the end product is so unique and very gift worthy. They are very prim and just adorable! The best part, when your candle is gone, there's no need to buy the container again... you just buy the refill to fit the pan. How cool is that? You can try as many scents as you want this way, and you get to save some money in the process. I love bakery scents so when I had the opportunity to review these candles, I jumped right on it!
Allicca is sweet and really easy to work with so customer service is top notch. She made some suggestions... I selected my scents and they were here in a jiffy. Easy peasy!

 What did my candles from Pineridge Scents look like?
Buttercream Blessings is a large loaf pan candle and is creamy pinkish in color, Cinnamon Kitchen was a grubby votive in brown, and Primitive Pantry were melts and green in color.

How did my candles from Pineridge Scents smell?
Buttercream Blessings
The scent description on her site is:
 "ahhhhhhhhhhhh new 2007 for all my berry baked people.. It is a blend of our sweet vanilla cookie with our berries of maine, just the right amount of each comes together to combine to a warm butterscotch berry blend.. it's a sweet baked Blessing not too strong..."
I had some trouble with this one. As big as it was (HUGE!) it never scented a room for me. She says in the description that it's a light scent, so I probably should have expected that. I just never really got a good smell out of it and was disappointed.
Cinnamon Kitchen:
Scent description:
"A tickle your noise and throat ground cinnamon scent, this is a spice cinnamon, a true fresh  ground experience, It is NOT red hot or woodsy.."
Oh my stars, this is THE cinnamon scent! It is perfect, perfect, perfect!! Not that harsh "burn your nose" scent or fake at all. This smells smooth and comforting like the delicious and spicy aroma of real cinnamon. A real winner in my book! This little votive scented my bedroom very nicely and this will be a scent I'll for sure purchase again. And again and again.......
Primitive Pantry:
 Scent description:
"Pure orange essential with clove.. A powerful clovey citrus blend."
Ok, I am a sucker for a good orange clove scent, always have been. It is truly one of my favorite scents of all time, so I knew I had to try this one and I am sooooo glad I did! This is probably THE best version I have ever smelled and let me tell ya something, I'm very picky!
This scent was perfectly balanced between orange and clove, and the orange is a true orange. Definitely not the fake scratch and sniff sticker kind of orange smell. This smells like a clove studded orange you would make yourself. I am in love. If you like this scent, run over to her site and get it NOW! You'll thank me (and Allicca) later.

 How did my candles from Pineridge Scents burn?
The loaf pan was a real challenge. I couldn't get it to burn correctly until I asked Allicca about it. She advised me to bend the wicks toward the wax and I tried that and it was better. I suggest you try that from the beginning and if you ever have any question if you purchase from this company, do not hesitate to email and ask... she is happy to help troubleshoot and answer any questions. That's one of the joys of smaller companies... the excellent customer and care consumers receive.
My votive burned perfectly. No smoke or soot and it liquefied totally. |
Closing to my review of Pineridge Scents:
Pineridge Scents has some great fragrances and a novel idea with their refills. I was  overall happy with my experience here and will be back. The scent list is small, but mighty and if you're a bakery scented lover like me and are into unique... you should give them a try. There are a couple of scents that I would gnaw my own arm off to get to, so I think it's worth a look.
Allicca is friendly and easy to work with and ships in flat rate boxes (my favorite way!) and I do recommend this company.Â
