Spring has finally hit the region I live in.  With the freak Spring storms over, I am so ready to get into my flower beds and get down to business.  I got some floral scented melts to encourage the mood.

Beanpod Candles is a company I have been curious about for a while now.  I usually buy from the smaller mom and pop stores and don't mind missing out on what the "big guys" have to offer. The people who like Beanpod though seem to be almost fierce in their devotion to these candles, so I decided that in order to not miss out on a good thing I would give them a try.

Beanpod's version of tarts is the Soy Bead.  Beanpod encourages you to buy both their candles and soy beads and create custom blends by sprinkling the beads in your candle.  They also provide recipes to get you started in creating your blends.

I bought my soy beads from Cherry Lane Keepsakes because that's where I found the biggest variety.  I bought a bunch of scents and will be reviewing two here...Wild Flowers and Daisy.

What Do My Soy Beads from Beanpod Look Like?

These are small wax beads in a cute stackable container.  They look almost like the little dots that a hole puncher makes.  (see photo to left) Wildflower is blue, Daisy is yellow.  I had some issues with the shipping on mine.  Some of them opened in the box and spilled, but it was taken care of.  You may want to ask them to tape up the containers in the comments section of the shopping cart.

How Do My Soy Beads from Beanpod Smell?

Wildflowers ~

The description of this scent is:

Our Wild Flowers candle captures the rich, beloved scent of freshly picked wildflowers on a hot summer day.

I bought this one because I love planting Wildflowers.  They are so colorful and fragrant and just make me happy.  This was a nice fragrance that lived up to my expectations. I can't pick up any single flower but it a medley of sweet, fragrant flowers that makes me long for Summer.  It's slightly spicy and has no greenery notes that I can detect.

This scent manages to have a great throw without being overly powerful. I really like it.  I used about 1 1/2 ounces in my burner and had a nice scent in my bedroom.

Daisy ~

The description for this scent is:

"This fragrance was inspired by children playing in a field of daisies. It's cheerful, sweet and bright."

I just had to try this one!  I usually only plant flowers that have a good scent, but I love daisies.  They are just so adorable and are exactly what the description says, happy and bright.

Obviously this wasn't exactly an authentic smell because daisies just smell like plants.  I'm not sure what the notes are in this one. It's a floral without a doubt, but it also smells fresh and bright.  This one makes me think of those fabric softener commercials where the sheets are flapping in the breeze for some reason!  It is a clean, sunny and cheerful smell.  The throw on this was decent but it was much lighter than the Wildflowers.  I again used about 1 1/2 ounces in my burner and had a light but definite scent in my room.

Overall Opinion Of My Soy Beads By Beanpod:

I love these things!  Because they are so small they melt really fast and you get the scent right away.  While these fragrances aren't really true in the sense of smelling like a daisy or a certain wildflower, they do smell like the descriptions.  I always appreciate an accurate description of a scent.

I have some more scents to melt and will purchase more in the future.  Beanpod is worth a try and the soy beads are a great way to sample scents.
