 Introduction to my review of scented melts from Tara’s Candle Cottage:
It’s been a long long time since I’ve written a review for no other reason than I’m simply in love with a company and their products. And I am definitely in love... with melts from Tara's Candle Cottage!
Interestingly…. when I first tried this company several years ago, I wasn’t that impressed. Their bath and body was pretty good but their melts didn‘t do anything for me. Nothing really stood out so I didn't plan on ordering again and leaving it at that. Well, I think a year ago (maybe less) a friend of mine convinced me to go back and give Tara another whirl and I did. And I have to say, I am SOOOOOOOO incredibly glad I did!! I don’t know if she reformulated her wax or what but I‘m telling you, everything (and I mean everything) from this company is ROCKING my world!!!!!!
Tara's Candle Cottage is well designed and easy to shop on... they offer a variety of wax from a few size candles, tealights and of course my favorite… a nice variety of melts in a few shapes and sizes. I haven’t tried any candles yet, just melts and so far… that’s keeping me pretty happy. My melt of choice here? Scent shots. I like how each melt is poured in its own little plastic container. To me, it makes for easy storage, accessibility and less mess. I also like the size… they are big.
As an avid online shopper, I love shopping on sites that offer a nice variety and a sizable scent list to choose from. That’s probably the biggest key to grabbing me - a scent list. The bigger, the better. Tara’s Candle Cottage has a decent one… not too big, not too small. But what has “really” grabbed me and keeps me going back is her nifty little section where you can mix and blend your own custom scents tailored just for you. Oooooh the fun and addiction! You can choose 2 or 3 scents and even choose the percentages of each scent you want in your blend. You also get to name your scent. So far, I’ve created dozens of scents I’m now in love with. Every scent created is added to her “created by customer” scent list with your name next to it for posterity and the scent is added to her site so anyone can order it. Sweeeeeeet!!!! I’ve discovered a lot of great blends from her customer creations. And it’s amazing to see how creative other candle lovers can get. Bottom line, it’s a blast and man oh man, the scents you can come up with are just amazing! You can be boring or get super creative… it’s totally up to you.
The scents in this review are some of my favorite bakery scents. Super strong and utterly delicious!! Unfortunately, I have no scent descriptions to give you since they’re all custom scents. I’ll have to wing it describing everything.

First on my list…
Toasted Pastry Delight
Toasted Pastry Delight is a percentage of 40% Toasted Marshmallow, 40% Birthday Cake, and 20% Bear Claws… sounds weird right?... but I swear, it works!! This scent is so divinely delicious, it borders on sinful. I smell it and it literally stops me in my tracks to take deep inhales. It’s so strong, so rich, so smooth and so full of bakery goodness, you want to grab a fork and eat the air with a glass of milk. I love this scent!!
Mouth watering yet? Okay, Imagine fresh from the oven birthday cake with ribbons of melted toasted marshmallow and bear claws. It’s a warm and rich cake scent with depth… you can almost taste it, it’s THAT good. This scent is a room filler too. Bakery lovers, you will be moaning in pure joy.

Candy Corn Cake
Candy Corn Cake is a mixture of 50% Birthday Cake, 50% Candy Corn. Sounds boring right? It’s not. First of all, Tara has one of the best birthday cakes  scents around so anything you blend with that scent is super delicious. Candy corn blended with birthday cake is just amazing.
Just imagine the best sweet and sugary candy corn you’ve ever had melting into freshly baked birthday cake and WALLAH, an instant moan inducing fragrance you’ll be craving all year long. Forget Halloween!!
This scent is a room filler… super strong. This is a scent I can’t get enough of. Love love love it!!

Toasted Raspberry Coconut Cake
This blend is a mix of Raspberry Zinger Cake, Toasted Marshmallow and Bahama Coconut. I love Raspberry Zinger, it’s one of my fav’s and Tara was nice enough to add it to her scent list just so I could start blending it.
So, imagine fresh from the oven white cake with ribbons of raspberry filling, toasted marshmallow and shredded coconut then slathered with rich butter cream frosting. Um…. YUM!!!!!!!!!! Love!!!!! This scent gives a medium scent throw… not super strong but strong enough that you can’t miss it. Deeeeeee-licious.

Fifteens
Here’s another customer creation I fell in love with. Sooooooo delicious!!
Fifteens is a blend of 50% Sugar Cookie, 25% Bahama Coconut & 25% Toasted Marshmallow.
 Did I mention Tara’s Sugar Cookie is to die for too? Anything blended with it is yummy and Fifteens was no exception. This scent is moan worthy… the sugar cookie is the dominant scent with sprinkles of toasted marshmallow and coconut blended to perfection. It’s simple but warm and inviting. I have this scent melting in my burners and I’m constantly sniffing the air in pure appreciation. Very strong!

Pina Colada Cookies
Pina Colada Cookies is a blend of 50% Sugar Cookie 30% Bahama Coconut 20% Pineapple Supreme.
A friend created this one and it’s pure magic. Pina colada is already a sweet scent but add Tara’s sugar cookie to the mix and it’s pure paradise.
A perfect blend of warm sugar cookies with a hint of pina colada blended in. Sounds odd but it works. It’s yummy and a room filler!!!!!

Toasted Cinnamon Goo
Mmmmmmmmmm!!!!!! Toasted Cinnamon Goo is a blend of 30% Iced Cinnamon Rolls, 40% Toasted Marshmallow, 30% Sugar Cookie. It is divine!!!!!!!
I swear, to me, this is THE perfect cinnamon bun scent EVER! One of the problems I have with so many cinnamon bun scents out there is that most have harsh cinnamon aromas, almost synthetic. I don't like that... I want to smell that warm, intensely sweet cinnamon bread smell with melted icing. This scent is hot, gooey, cinnamon-y, dripping with frosting and you literally want to wrap this scent around you like a blanket. A warm and rich scent wrapped in delicious bakery goodness. This is another room filler.

| Closing to my review of scents melts from Tara’s Candle Cottage:
I could go on and on with all the scents I’ve tried and how happy I am with this company but then this review would never end. You get the gist of it - I’m beyond happy. And it’s amazing how this company went from the bottom of my list to the top. Literally the top. It also taught me a lesson… to never give up on a company until you’ve at least tried them twice. At least.
With that said, I highly recommend this company, highly-highly-highly. I don’t think there is a thing I wouldn’t recommend here. I can’t vouch for their candles since I haven’t tried those yet but melts- definitely recommend.
Tara’s prices are super reasonable - she offers free shipping deals and often runs sales that are SO freakin amazing and hard to resist, you’ll go nuts shopping. Been there, done that many many times!! And if you’re brave enough… give her custom scent shots a whirl to see what creations you can come up with. You’ll be surprised at how creative you can get. And if you don't feel like being creative, no worries - she has many delicious scents to choose from all by themselves. And you don’t have to go bakery either… she has plenty of fresh, florals and all the in-betweens too. Her customer service is amazing and she's always available to answer questions if you have any.
As an added bonus... Tara is running a BOGO sale on all her scent shots right now. SWEEEEEEET!!!!! So now would be the time to give her a try "if" you are so inclined. :) Sale ends on the 14th I believe.
