Summer Sorbet

I've been wanting to try this scent for ages but never got around to buying it. So, when asked to sample their candles again, picking this one was a "no brainer" for me. Summer Sorbet... how can you not like that name considering sorbet means "sherbet" or mixture of fruit? Yum!!

I was sent a 16oz jar and also took note that this scent was rated a 4 on their "scentometer". So, it's considered a medium+ fragrance. I was not disappointed with the throw as it did scent my bedroom quite nicely. It's funny when you've been wanting to try a fragrance for a long time (imagining what it smells like) and then when you finally do... you have really high expectations. At least I do anyway. When I opened the lid of this candle to smell it for the first time, honestly, I was a little disappointed. I didn't get that sweet/sugary/fruit aroma I was hoping for. Frankly, I don't know "what" I was hoping for but this wasn't it. To me, it smelled like a blob of some kind of fruit but I couldn't tell you what kind of fruit upon first sniff.

Plugging along, I lit the candle in my bedroom and every time I went back into the room to smell the air, I frowned because the scent seemed familiar but I couldn't figure it out, it was driving me nuts. The description told me all the fruit that made up this scent but I couldn't really pinpoint anything specific except for one... Peach!! Peach dominated this scent and although I like the smell of peaches... it's not a huge favorite of mine. It's just too strong and overbearing of a scent to me and I have to be in the mood. But, now that I figured out what I was smelling, I was like, "okay... this is a pretty good scent if you like the smell of peaches." I was so glad I figured it out that I kept going back to see if I could pinpoint any of the other fruit and all I can say is... sort of, I could smell other things but not really anything specific. Seems rather cryptic but there you have it... my nose kind of failed me on this one.

So... all in all, Summer Sorbet was a nice candle. Not quite what my imagination thought it would be but that's my own fault, not Shorties. I say if you like Peaches and want a bit of something extra added to it... give this candle a try. You'll probably like it.

Paradise Pear
This was by far my favorite of the three scents I tried and I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Here's the scent description:

Oh my gosh did I loved this scent!! I've been burning this candle for three days straight and only just now read the description. I had no idea apple was part of the mix and after reading that, I realized I totally could smell a hint of apple. Now it makes sense because this fragrance (to me) was not a true pear scent. I kept wondering how to describe it and now I get why I was having a problem. When you smell it, you smell pear and lots of sweetness with a hint of apple. It's yummy!! I highly recommend it!

This scent is rated a 4.5 on their "scentometer", the strongest being 5 and I totally concur with that... this is a strong scent and a room filler. It's not over-powering at all but perfect. You walk in the room and you're senses are engulfed with this sweet summer scent. Pear lovers... buy it... you'll like it. I'm definitely ordering this one again next time I order from this company.
