What did my candle smell like?
Harvest Spice was another spicy and warm fall fragrance from Scentsational I had the pleasure of sampling.
A bit about my candle – The candle I received was 14 ounces and in a standard whiskey style clear glass vessel. The wax was white with one centered wick.
Scent description for Harvest Spice:
The Harvest Spice scented candle creates the aura of fall with a spicy, warm and revitalizing fragrance. A blend of apples, nutmeg, cinnamon and cranberry create a scent that is both warm and inviting.
This was an interesting fragrance. As I had it sitting next to me while I typed this introduction, my eyes started burning and it didn’t take me long to realize it was because of the spice coming from the candle. That’s never happened to me before and not sure what to make of that. Regardless, cold sniff with this candle was very promising. The strength just from having it sit next to me was strong so I can only imagine how strong it will be once burning.
Time to find out!
I lit this candle in my master bedroom and within 30 minutes of lighting the wick, the fragrance was moving throughout the room. The aroma definitely toned down once I lit the wick, it was not as strong and I was happy with that. The scent… totally different from the scent description and it was very interesting. I actually found myself staying right around the candle every so often just to try and pinpoint what exactly I was smelling. In the end… I couldn’t. I definitely smelled something fruity but it didn’t smell like apples or cranberries. The overall scent (to my nose) reminded me of a sweet fruity aroma (maybe plum) with a hint of spice. It was definitely a fall fragrance but very low key. Truly folks, I was at a loss with this one. You smell the fragrance and it does smell like fall – warm, rich and spicy but I couldn’t pinpoint one single element if I tried.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 5 in a really large room. 8 in a medium and 10 in a small room. After burning this candle, definitely stick to medium or smaller rooms for optimal performance.
This candle burned fine. No issues. Clean and even burn from start to finish.
Closing to my review:
Harvest Spice was a fruity scent with a hint of spice and it burned fantastic. I feel horrible though that I couldn’t really describe the fragrance for you and trust me, I tried. I burned this candle for several days nonstop hovering over it, stumped. It’s just one of those scents you’ll have to experience for yourself to understand.
