Christina review spotted hog candlesIntroduction to My Review of Two Scented Jar Candles from Village Candle Co...

Well, we've sure had quite the hiatus from candle reviews haven't we? Even though I've missed it... I have to confess that it was a fun and much needed break for us. Carolyn is still working on the new CandleFind design which is going to be incredible!! Trust me, it will be well worth the wait since I've already got to see sneak peeks and it's everything her vivid imagination has promised us candle lovers. In the meantime, we decided to re-open the formal review part of CandleFind for everyone's reading and smelling pleasure. Bottom line... we're back folks and raring to go!!... and boy have we burned and melted some great scents these past few months!

This review is on two Village Candles I tried awhile ago. Village Candle company is a pretty big name out there and although I don't have a whole lot of experience with them... what I have tried so far I've enjoyed. I think for a well known brand, they're competitively priced and although they don't have a huge selection compared to other companies... it's a pretty decent selection and a nice variety for the majority of us. They also offer simmer melts for those who prefer to go the flameless route. I do like both equally now but chose candles to review this time. I tried Lemon Puff & Pineapple Sorbet. A name like Lemon Puff sold me right off the bat. I looooooove a good lemon scent.

What Do My Village Candles Look Like?
Lemon Puff is from their premium line and are square contemporary style jars with flat glass lids. The wax color of my candle was yellow and my candle had a single wick. Pineapple Sorbet was a 16oz candle from their Village Round collection. My candle was double wicked and the wax color a soft yellow. The Village Round candles are classic style apothecary jars with dome lids and are very reasonably priced. This is definitely the way to go if you've been interested in trying this candle line as a 16oz jar is only $12.00.

How Did My Village Candles Smell?

Lemon Puff:

As an avid lemon connoisseur... I couldn't pass this one up. I had been eyeing this scent for months before I couldn't stand it anymore and finally caved. Anything that has "puff" at the end sounds too good to be true... put lemon before it and I was sold. I had a feeling this candle was bound to smell delicious and boy was I right! Here's the scent description for this fragrance.

"The light stuff... Indulge your senses in pillows of flaky puff pastry lightly dusted in clouds of confection embracing a delectable fresh lemon sauce expertly blended with gourmet bakery notes with a lasting finish of vanilla pleasure. Best of all -- no calories!"

I added this candle to my cart before I even read the description but after reading it, I was practically drooling. Descriptions are so key to me and this description was very well written. Lemon Puff is only available in Village Candles premium line which means (to me) they're way more expensive than their round apothecary jars. Why they separate their scents like that, I have no idea. One to penny pinch (because I buy so darn much), I usually stick to the Village Round jars but, I had to have this one. I ended up with two 16oz square jars for $18 bucks a piece.

I really-really liked this scent and will definitely be back for more. It was warm, lemony delicious and I found myself sniffin' away at the air every time time I had these candles burning. I love the fragrance of warm bakery lemon scents, I simply can't resist them. The lemon was delicious and blended with that flakey pastry scent just completed the package for me, YUM!!

The scent throw on my candles gave a medium throw and I had two candles burning at once. It wasn't as strong as I would have preferred but nevertheless, it was doable. I definitely liked it enough for a repeat purchase. I very much recommend this scent if you ever have the opportunity to purchase it.
