White Barn Candle Co. are candles I've always wondered about and sniffed at every opportunity but never purchased any until recently. Why now and not before? Because I find them way overpriced and refuse to spend my hard earned cash on overpriced candles. There are plenty of other companies out there (as we all know) that charge half the price of White Barn Candles, so why bother? Well, I've been catching some killer sales and that's the only reason I bought some.  As a matter of fact, I went to town and bought the mother load while I could at 50% off. HELLO!!  I'd be stupid not to.

I've gotta say, these candles aren't bad, not bad at'tall.  I'm only reviewing two candles in this review in their True Temptations line but there will definitely be more to come for sure since I bought almost every other scent they have (almost), not all, I'm not THAT bad.

The candles are classy and very modern. They're cylinder frosted jars with flat chrome lids. The label on the face of the candle says True Temptations. It's really cute, on all the True Temptations labels, it says 100% flavor, 0 calories. Another nice feature is there is a little arrow on the bottom right hand corner of the label allowing you to remove it easily. There are three wicks which I thought was awesome. The more wicks, the better burn in my opinion. Both candles had white wax.

How Did My Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream & Cinnamon Cappuccino Candles from White Barn Smell??

This was a yummy fragrance and if any of you reading this like the fragrance of mint chocolate, you have GOT to try this one!  It's an excellent scent that I burned down to the nubbins. Where do I begin? It was the perfect scent for me.  Nice rich chocolate with smooth mint blended to perfection. I love chocolate and mint, I could eat a bag of Andes mints all by myself' it's the kind of candy you let melt in your mouth because it's so cool, smooth and delicious. That's what this scent smelled like. The scent description on Bath & Body Works website for this fragrance is:

"Inspired by the scent of smooth, minty ice cream dotted with rich chocolate."

They could have done a little better on the description but oh well. The scent throw on this candle was awesome. I burned it in my great-room and the fragrance was everywhere and strong but not overpowering. The air had a nice minty feel which I love about mint candles and the chocolate mixed with it was to die for. I loved it, there's nothing more to say. I should have bought a few more, that's how much I liked it.

Cinnamon Cappuccino:

I absolutely LOVED this fragrance! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!! I enjoy burning coffee scents and let me tell ya, this is THE best coffee fragrance I've tried yet. It smells incredible, like sweet sugary cinnamon cappuccino you would smell in your favorite coffee house. As soon as I smelled this candle in the B&BW store, I grabbed two and now after burning it, I wish I would have grabbed a dozen, seriously! This has become my new favorite coffee scent.

I checked on the B&BW site and Cinnamon Cappuccino is not listed there but I know the stores carry it since I just saw it the other day. The scent throw on this candle is awesome and very strong. After I lit my candles, I started to notice the fragrance right away although it did take about 20 minutes for it to completely saturate my entire upper level and boy is it fantastic. Once my candles were burning for awhile, I was in absolute heaven and couldn't get enough of this fragrance.

I thought I was sick of cinnamon but this candle has given "cinnamon" new meaning. Blended with the cappuccino, it's perfect and I think, the exact fragrance all those people on those old Folgers commercials must have woken up to because, DUDE, this scent rocks!! Try one, you won't be sorry.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate burn performance on both candles a 6, maybe a 7 but that's pushing it. The wicks were the issue with my candles.  When I first lit both candles, all 3 flames on both burned to little nubs and stayed that way for hours. I thought they were defective but I let them burn their course and they finally started burning normal with a normal size flame. I burned these candles to the absolute bottoms and not once did I ever have to trim the wicks. I also couldn't use my wick dipper to extinguish the flames like I normally do. The wicks were stiff and wouldn't bend so I had to blow them out. I don't like doing that because of stinky smoke but oh well. The fragrance of these candles was worth that little bit of aggravation. Both candles did burn clean with no leftover wax at all.

Overall Opinion of My True Temptations Candles from White Barn Candle Company:

Okay Okay!... I'm putting the proverbial foot in the mouth on this one too. These candles were awesome and maybe (maybe I said) I would pay full price for 1 or 2 on occasion. I found a new favorite coffee scent and loved the Mint Chocolate Chip one too. These were great scented candles. I still think they're overpriced and should any of you catch a sale, stock up on the mother load! That's what I'm gonna do.
