My second Aromatique experience was Dogwood Blossoms Candle from their Spa collection. Like a broken record, I have a tough time burning floral candles. Anything that ends in "blossoms" I tend to stay clear of. I find that floral fragrances are usually too strong and heavy for me and I end of giving them away. Surprisingly, Dogwood Blossoms Candle wasn't all that bad. :-)
The fragrance is not heavy like I assumed it would be. The scent throw was soft and the fragrance although definitely floral, was light enough that I was able to burn it all day. I can't say that I loved it and will buy it again, but it wasn't bad. I've never heard of or smelled a Dogwood flower before so I apologize for not being able to properly describe the fragrance for you. The best word I can think of to describe the fragrance is "pretty". It's the kind of fragrance I picture smelling in a Victorian store with lots of lace and fluff. It's a light flowery scent that is totally girlie girl to me. For those of you who love floral scents, this one is very light and pleasant, not overpowering at all but soft and in my opinion, utterly feminine.
Aromatique's Fresh Air Candle
Fresh Air Candle is definitely that, a breath of fresh air. This scent definitely falls under the Clean/Fresh category. I'm having a hard time describing this line of candles to you because the fragrances are not simple or can be broken apart with one scent jumping out at you more than the other. In this case, I'm not sure what makes up this Fresh Air Candle. If I had to choose something, I would say it reminds me of soap or even a mans aftershave.
Once I lit my candle, it didn't take long before I began to notice the fragrance. When I smell it, it brings to mind opening up your windows on a bright sunny morning with a cool crisp breeze blowing all around you. It's a very fresh, bright and airy scent. I loved burning this candle best in my bathroom and I kept it there to the very end. For those of you who like soapy fresh/clean smells, I think you would enjoy this candle.
Aromatique's Sunset Candle
Sunset Candle from Aromatique is a warm and soothing fragrance that I think can be burned anytime of the year. It's a very nice fragrance that has a musky quality to it. It smelled a little earthy or woodsy to me and it's not a fragrance I've ever burned before. Nothing specific pops out at me but according to the description on Aromatiques website, Sandalwood & Patchouli make up this candle. Shows you how much I know or burn those fragrances huh. :-)
I burned this candle to the very end, from morning to night for roughly 4 days so if I burned it 15 hours a day... that's 60 hours. That is a very respectable burn time for a 5 oz candle. The scent throw is consistent but seemed light to me so this would be a good candle to burn in a small room or large bathroom. I enjoyed this candle and would recommend it to anyone who likes earthy, natural fragrances and who of course doesn't mind the $15.00 price tag.
Aromatique's Serenity Candle
When I first smelled Serenity candle from Aromatique, Cinnamon Vanilla was instantly brought to mind. It has that classic creamy vanilla & spicy aroma that just about everybody loves. To me, Cinnamon Vanilla is like Milk & Chocolate or Peanut Butter & Jelly, they were practically made for each other. I like burning this fragrance best in the fall or winter months because it brings such a warm and cozy presence to my home but that's a personal choice. I have many friends who burn this fragrance all year round.
I do recommend this candle as it did give a great scent throw and the fragrance was awesome. This line is expensive so keep that in mind. There isn't really much more to say about this candle other than I liked it and would probably purchase it for that special occasion where I would want to impress someone with my impeccable and expensive taste, LOL. :-)
