Caroline Candle Co. is a new online store recently introduced to me. I very much enjoyed this companies website as it was very simple yet elegant and also easy to navigate through. They offer 100% all natural soy candles in 3 sizes of apothecary jars as well as 2 travel tin sizes and tarts. They also offer soy tumblers in 4 aromatherapy fragrances for aromatherapy lovers. Currently, the scent selection is limited (18) but I'm told will grow with time. I know that scent selection is important to a lot of us but I still encourage you to try these smaller companies because even though selection is limited, quality isn't.

I chose three scents to review in the fragrances Romance, Citron et Figue & Yuzu Mango. Since Valentines Day is around the corner, I decided to review Romance by itself since this is a limited edition and available for a short time. I wanted to give you a chance to purchase this fragrance if it was something you were interested in.

What Does My Romance Candle Look Like?

My Romance candle is in a 20oz Apothecary jar with a flat glass lid. The wax color is natural white with no colorants as are all of Caroline Candles. My candle has a single wick. There is a simple style label on the face of the jar that doesn't seem to detract from the elegance of the candle.

How Did My Romance Candle Smell?

"What is romance? It's the thoughtfulness of a single, handpicked flower, chosen with me in mind. Romance is my husband spending ten minutes arranging my pillows behind my back when I couldn't get comfortable with a nine-month-pregnant belly. The words, "I'll get up with the baby this time, you get some rest." Romance isn't always overwhelming and lasting, romance is always subtle.

That's why, after many hours of testing and trying, the perfect Romance fragrance from Caroline Candle Co. is one that is subtly beautiful.  For those of you used to our highly scented, instantly noticeable fragrances, we wanted to offer a new interpretation of the meaning of romance for this Valentine's Day.  It's a hint of deep complex amber with a splash of authentic Madagascar vanilla. A suggestion of cardamom and perhaps a tiny bit of exquisite chocolate.  Incredibly deep and soulful, like the finest wine, a little is enough for complete satisfaction.

Okay, HELLO!!  Now is that a mouthful of description or what? Here I am reading this description, sniffing my candle thinking, wow, what the heck am I smelling here but equally excited to burn this sucker to see if it was as romantic as what I just read.

The next morning, I lit my candle in my bedroom and went about my business.  About an hour later, I could definitely smell my candle but still wasn't quite sure what I was smelling.  So, I read the description again. Amber, yep, I could pick that out. Madagascar Vanilla, I've never smelled that specific vanilla but yes, I could smell vanilla although very light. Cardamom, don't know what that is so I'm not sure what that smells like. Exquisite chocolate? Yeah, I could smell that for sure. All the above ingredients blended together makes for one different and beautiful fragrance. The uniqueness of this candle (I thought )was the Amber. It added something to the overall fragrance that I found seductive.

I also want to point out this fragrance is meant to be light, not strong so if you're expecting a strong scent throw, don't buy it.  My large candle did fragrance my bedroom quite nicely but the scent was light and subtle, exactly as it was intended to be.

In closing, my Romance candle from Caroline Candle Co was very unique and definitely a nice choice for Valentines Day. Was it romantic? Yes, I think so and one that will add an alluring and seductive atmosphere to any candle lit dinner or romantic evening.

Overall, my candle burned pretty good. At times, the wax pool didn't melt all the way to the edge (close, but not quite) and I did have to push leftover wax into the melted pool every once in awhile. It wasn't too bad and for the most part, my candle burned okay. Clean burn, no soot.

Romance was my first experience with this company and overall, I'm impressed and I do recommend them if you love soy and are in the mood to pamper yourself. (when aren't we?)

I do think these candles are on the expensive side. I would even consider this a soy luxury brand because the fragrances available seem unique and well thought out. Not your average every day scents if you know what I mean.  So, it's safe to say this would not be a company I'd go hog wild on when shopping as is my usual "MO".  I still have Citron et Figue & Yuzu Mango to burn so watch for my next review coming in a month or so.  It'll be interesting to see how these compare to Romance.
