Candles by Crepeau is a newly introduced company to me. They're an online store selling scented jar candles in approximately 45 fragrances and counting. They currently only have two jar sizes, 10oz or 16oz as well as tarts that are absolutely huge in size! I couldn't believe the size when I first saw them.

With March 17th around the corner, I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a scent that goes with St. Patrick's Day. It's not a holiday I pay much attention to, hence my hard time coming up with a fragrance. I'm not into the green type scents so a four leaf clover or a fresh cut grass candle didn't sound appealing in the least. When I was browsing Candles by Crepeau's website and saw Irish Cream, BAM! I knew I had found my St. Patrick's Day candle!! I also decided to throw in some floral scents just for the heck of it.

What Do My Irish Cream Candle & Tarts Look Like?

Irish Cream is a classic style apothecary jar with a flat glass lid. There is a gold oval shaped label on top of the lid that says, "Candles by Crepeau" along with the scent name. The tarts were HUGE! Do you hear that tart lovers, these tarts are Fred Flintstone size. Irish Cream was green in color, My Michelle was white and Hearts & Flowers was a light pink.

How Did My Candle & Tarts Smell?

When I first smelled this candle, it really does smell like Irish Cream and seems like such a warm and fuzzy scent. This candle smelled pretty darn good and this was also my first time burning an Irish Cream scent so I was looking forward to giving it a try.

I lit my candle in the morning (as always) and waited a bit before going back in to check on it. I'd say an hour went by. When I walked back in the room, the fragrance was very light. An hour later, same thing, I could smell Irish Cream but it just didn't have the "knock your socks off" strength I wished it would have. The fragrance itself seemed very authentic and I liked it, my only wish was that the scent throw could have been stronger. Had it been, this fragrance would be awesome.

I later asked Candles by Crepeau about the scent strength and Nancy, the owner seemed surprised because she said it's a strong scent. Interesting, so if you decide to give this scent a try, maybe you'll have better luck.

I still can't get over how big these tarts are. Candles by Crepeau sells them in a 3 pack for $2.95 so the cost of 1 is a little less that $1.00, that's a pretty good deal. I love different fragrance names and My Michelle caught my attention as soon as I saw it in their fragrance menu. The scent description is:

"NEW! A delightful perfume scent that is perfect for a bedroom or bathroom - named after our daughter, Michelle, and comes in "almost" white."

The description is accurate as this scent is indeed perfect in a bedroom or bathroom. I happened to burn this tart in my bathroom and it smells really fresh and powdery. I really liked it! The scent throw is super strong and traveled into my bedroom and even into my great-room overpowering the 2 candles I had burning in there. Very strong scent throw but at the same time, not so strong that it gagged me. It's just a nice flowing fragrance that gives your room a clean & fresh smell.

I asked Nancy, owner of Candles by Crepeau what makes up this scent and the only info she would divulge was that it's very similar to her daughters' favorite designer perfume. Um, okay, that's a cryptic response making me even more curious. I guess it's one of those, "I could tell ya but then I'd have ta kill ya" responses. (smile)

Seriously though, I can see why this scent was named after a girl because it's very girlie and feminine. I can totally picture this fragrance burning in my teenage daughters' room...she loved it just as much as I did. I highly recommend My Michelle if you like fresh/clean powdery fragrances.
