Candle #3: Candles by Victoria - Watermelon

I love Candles by Victoria and like a broken record quoting the above reviews, I have not officially reviewed this company yet for CandleFind. I have no idea why because I totally dig these candles and have purchased literally hundreds of them as well as my fair share of tarts. I LOVE their tarts, they're awesome and you get a good amount for your buck. I could go on and on but I'll save that for later, for now I need to center on their Watermelon scent.

I tried their 16oz mason jars and melts and overall, I think this is a nice version of Watermelon. It had that sweet and juicy aroma I couldn't help but drool over so this one gets a definite two thumbs up from me. My only qualm would be that the 16oz mason jars I burned weren't quite strong enough so I think next time, I may go for their apothecary jars instead with the hope I'll get a stronger scent throw.

The tarts however kicked you know what! They were majorly strong...I was in watermelon heaven all day. The fragrance was so sweet and delicious that it had me sniffing the air and craving the real thing. To me, that's a clear sign I have a winning scent.

I would recommend if you like strong throws, go for the tarts or a larger jar. I felt although the 16oz mason jars did give a pleasant throw, the strength wasn't strong enough for my personal taste.

Candle #4: Gold Canyon Candle Co. - Watermelon

I'm a big Gold Canyon fan but for some reason never tried their watermelon scent. How it got past me, I have no idea. Gold Canyon candles in my experience consistently give strong scent throws in just about every scent I've tried so after burning a few watermelon scents that gave lighter throws, I had high hopes for this one. Just the initial sniff test told me this fragrance was comparable in scent to Lee Ann's and Candles by Victoria. It smelled sweet and delicious so I couldn't wait to light these puppies.

I lit two 16oz candles in my great-room. Normally, I start to notice GC candles pretty quick, but these actually took a while longer. I would say a few hours before I really took notice. Even then, the strength seemed under medium and didn't saturate my great-room like I expected. You could say I was somewhat disappointed. What I could smell was great and enjoyable though, I just wanted it stronger. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would have to rate the strength of this one a 6, maybe a 7 but that's pushing it.

In closing, I would have to say Gold Canyon's Watermelon was decent but didn't really "wow" me. I would have to say it's definitely the strongest watermelon candle I've burned so far but am still sticking to my theory that tarts are the way to go and unfortunately, Gold Canyon doesn't sell tarts.

Candle #5: Blue Moon Candle Co. -  Wild Watermelon

Blue Moon Candle Co. is fast becoming a new favorite company of mine. I've reviewed 3 of their candles last year and enjoyed them so much, I recently placed an order to try more of their fragrances. So far, I'm doing a happy dance over all my choices and am very pleased. Blue Moon's watermelon scent happened to be among my picks and happily, they also sent me a jar in watermelon just for this review.

After finishing up 4 candles in Watermelon that were light in strength, I was beginning to wonder whether it was me or if watermelon is naturally a light scent. Just smelling Blue Moon's version told me it smelled a bit different than the previous four I just finished burning. I say that because smelling this scent cold, I almost want to say it seemed smoother and creamier and didn't smell like candy as the previous four did. Nothing against candy either because I do like that too. This one just stood out more to me.

My jar was 6oz so I naturally burned this candle in a smaller room (my powder room) and the scent strength was perfect there. Every time I walked into my bathroom, the fragrance was bold and strong. It smelled AWESOME! Sweet and smooth and exactly how I would imagine the taste of biting into the real thing. As far as scent strength, that was kind of hard to gauge being that my candle was small but I'm guessing this scent is medium in strength. The tart in this scent was wonderful as well so I don't think you can go wrong with either.

So far, this is my favorite of the bunch. If you like watermelon scents, try Blue Moon's version, I thought it was pretty good.
