Introduction to My Apple City Scents Candle Review...
Hello CandleFind lovers, I've found another great company that I'm really excited to introduce to you! Apple City Scents is an online store selling 100% soy candles in over 110 fragrances. They carry 3 different style jars in hex, apothecary or tureen in 3 different sizes in each style. They also sell votives, tarts & tea lights so the variety and selection is very nice and a sizable range to please even the pickiest of us. Their prices are also very reasonable and best of all, they offer free shipping on orders over $75.00. WOOHOO!!
I'm a picky shopper to a certain degree and free shipping is one of my biggest pet peeves. Simply stated, I don't like to pay shipping and if I do, it has to be reasonable or I probably won't shop there. With so many choices and sites offering shipping deals and specials all across the board, it's hard not going nuts and buy-buy-buy. I think the majority of us agree that every little bit helps when it comes to our expensive candle habit.
Just from browsing this site, it's easy to navigate, prices are incredible and the selection is sizable. The candles I tried were pretty darn good and impressed me enough that I'll definitely be back for more. I give this company two thumbs up and say to all of you here and now, GO SHOP!!
What Do My Apple City Candles Look Like?
My Gardenia candle was in their 8oz tureen style jar. Very cute and dainty and went perfect in my bathroom. The wax color was yellow and my candle had 1 wick. Country Clothesline was a 10oz apothecary style jar with a flat glass lid. This candle was double wicked and the color was a pretty light blue. My Cinnamon Buns tart was brown in color and a pretty standard size and style.
How Did My Gardenia & Country Clothesline Jar Candles Smell?

This is funny, I learned a couple of months ago that not only is my husband a "pine expert" but also a "gardenia expert" Hard to believe I didn't know this but, go figure? Apparently, my significant other grew up with gardenia bushes in his backyard so he smelled fresh blooming gardenia's all the time. He swears to me that every gardenia candle put to his nose, he'll be able to tell me how authentic it is. So, I am totally putting him to the test.
I've only tried a few Gardenia scents and most of the candles my new "gardenia expert" smelled tells me they're okay but not totally authentic. He said the fragrances I've brought to him in the past had a perfume quality to them that takes away from the true to life smell of the actual flower, interesting. So, my Apple City Scents Gardenia candle arrived and I couldn't wait to see what my hubby thought of it.
When he smelled it for the first time, he actually said it was the closest candle by far that smells like a real gardenia. COOL! So I lit this sucker in my bathroom and waited to see what happened. I would say I started noticing the scent within 10 or so minutes. As most of you know, I don't care for floral scents, I just don't. Gardenia being second to the last on the floral totem pole (rose is #1) but all in all, this one wasn't bad. I can smell the fragrance but it's not overpowering, "in your face" like the majority of floral scents are. It was light and airy but definitely there to smell so, as far as florals go, this one was pretty good. Gardenia fans, I do recommend this one.
Country Clothesline:
Country Clothesline is a fresh/clean lovers dream! This scent will be sure to brighten up your day as it's very vibrant and lively. When I first smelled it, it reminded me of laundry soap all the way. Hence the name, duh. :-)
Here is the scent description right from Ken, co-owner of Apple City Scents:
"Fresh Linen on a clean spring day. (I personally think it's a little strong with a perfume scent but it's nice in our bathroom)"
He's right, it's really strong and since perfume is mentioned, I do detect a perfume quality in the mix which isn't bad at all. I agree that this is an excellent fragrance to burn in a large bathroom or bedroom since it throws such a fresh and vibrant scent.
This candle gives an awesome scent throw that is very strong. I started noticing the fragrance right after lighting it and once it's been burning awhile, WOW! Very strong! I can even smell it when it's just sitting on my counter and not lit. Would I buy this candle again? Probably not. I do like fresh/clean scents but this one was a little too strong for me. I personally prefer more fabric softener smells rather than soap. With that said though, it was still a great scent and I did burn it all the way to the end and it's definitely a great candle if you like that fresh laundry soap smell.
