When I was first approached to review this candle line, I was a little hesitant because at the time, this company only had a little over 12 scents on their menu. I know most of you in candlefind land love a nice big menu, I know I do so browsing a site that doesn't have a huge list to choose from makes me go "hmmm, do I or don"t I want to order?"

This website is so cool, very hip & modern and reading all the names of their fragrances pretty much lured me in. I couldn't help but want to try these candles and by the time I finally got around to it, their menu grew a little so that was a nice and happy surprise. There are 22 fragrances in their core scent line and 7 fragrances in their aromatherapy line and also seasonal holiday scents available for limited times. It's still not a huge selection but that old saying, "bigger doesn't necessarily mean better" is really true and it definitely applies to this company.

Sparklepuss.com sells 100% all soy candles in 3 different jar sizes as well as full sized glass votives and melts. Oh yeah melt-a-holics, melts, and they're only 1 buckaroo each which includes shipping!! Not bad and an excellent way to sample all their wonderful fragrances before purchasing jars. Their candles are all natural so you won't find dyes or additives in these candles and best of all, all my candles were double wicked.

Their website is so cute with an adorable black cat at the top of their homepage. The cat reminded me of Samantha Stevens on Bewitched and the whole look was very inviting and fun. Sparklepuss.com is located in Seattle Washington so they've taken on a "Seattle" theme with all their fragrances. I really appreciate when companies do that because to me, it shows detail and precision with every scent they sell. Did their candles live up to my curiosity and expectations? Oh yes, most definitely.

What Do My Sparklepuss Candles Look Like?

My candles were in modern round style glass jars with flat glass lids. The company label is on the lid itself which I liked so the label never detracts from the candle itself. All my candles were double wicked and the color of the wax was all natural off white with the exception of Capital Hill Cattucino which was a milky brown.

How Did My Soy Candles from Sparklepuss Smell?

Space Needle Spicy Pear:

This fragrance really impressed the heck outta me and from this point forward, I'll end up comparing every other pear fragrances to this one. When I first smelled this scent, I knew I was going to like it but now that I have it burning, I really love it! I would have to say this is THE most authentic pear scent I've smelled to date. It doesn't smells synthetic or superficial, it smells like you've cut open an under ripe pear sprinkled with a tiny bit of spice. It was truly a delightful scent. Here is the scent description from the Sparkle Puss website:

"This delicious blend of pear, spice and a hint of sweet cinnamon is a fruity choice that will pleasantly scent your home. Soft and inviting. Mostly fruity. A favorite! Juicy spiced pear."

That's a great description and I think what I liked most about this fragrance was that it wasn't overly sweet. I couldn't help but take deep breathes when I walked into my bedroom because it smelled just like a delicious pear with just a hint of cinnamon. The scent throw was incredible' this little candle fragranced my bedroom and open bathroom completely. It wasn't overpowering in the least but still strong and you could smell it loud and clear. This is a clear winner and if you love pear fragrances, this is a must have.

I have died and gone to nose heaven, that's how much I liked this fragrance. First of all, I love all the cool "Seattle" type theme names, very cute and clever. Seattle Morning Mist smelled very fresh and almost had a soft cologne type note in it which I really liked. Here is the scent description from Sparkle Puss website:

"This mysterious scent reminds me of Earl Grey tea and wet, rainy mornings in the Emerald City...aaahh, damp. Damp is not a four-letter word around here, rather it's just a way of life. I have a jar full of poPURRee right by my bed. On these grey mornings, I take a whiff of this uplifting and revitalizing scent (and push the snooze button!!!) ...delicate, light and creamy with a dash of citrus and bergamot! Top of the morning to you."

Now that is a very interesting description. Trying to break it down, my nose couldn't really smell Earl Gray tea. Delicate, yeah, I would say so. Citrus & bergamot, yep, I could make those out too but there seemed to be something more to this scent that I wasn't quite making out. M aybe it was the Earl Gray Tea, I don,t know but whatever it was, DUDE, this scent was awesome!! Very fresh, vibrant and a nice fragrance to wake up to for sure. I couldn,t get enough of it and I seemed to always migrate toward the room I had it burning in. I could totally imagine waking up to a dewy Seattle morning smelling this fragrance. It was different and to my knowledge, nary a duplication out there.

The scent throw is strong and true. Here's another small candle that fragranced my large bedroom pretty easily and managed to saturate my room with it's captivating scent. Can you tell I liked it? Oh yeah! Score #2 and I still have two more candles to go.
