Lemon Lavender:

I don't know what possessed me to buy this scent other than "Lemon" was in it.  I am not a fan of lavender but figured, what the heck.  I'm really glad I did because this scent is so fresh, unique and different.  I LOVED it!! Here is the scent description for this scent:

"Clean and inviting ... a powdery fresh blend of tangy lemon citrus and sweet lavender flowers."

That's a perfect description.  It is clean, fresh and vibrant and whatever else is in there, it tames down the lavender so much that I can't even smell flowers at all. This isn't an easy scent to describe either.  It does seem a little powdery and the citrus stands out the most which is one of the reasons I loved it so much.  The unique quality had to be the lavender.  For some reason the lavender mixed with lemon created a very lovely and unique fragrance.  It's soft and zesty at the same time and almost indescribable. I thought so anyway.

I burned two candles in my great-room and the throw was wonderful.  It wasn't overpowering but loud and clear and had me sniffin away all day.  My not so observant husband liked it too and actually commented on it so that's definitely a compliment.  After being disappointed with my Lemon Zest candles, I can say this particular fragrance in a candle throws great. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give it an 7 to 8.

I also melted several tarts for a few days and the throw on those were incredible.  I was "wowed" in fact so tarts are a clear winner. Next time I shop for Yankee stuff, I'll for sure stock up on it just in case this becomes a discontinued scent in the future.  Definitely give this one a try if you get the chance.

Overall Opinion of My Candles from Yankee:

I'm not in awe of this company but they definitely have some great fragrances worth buying.  I love their votives and tarts and will for sure continue to buy those and unless I catch a "to die for" sale on their jars, I'll pass on those.  I still think Yankee products are WAY overpriced but tons of people sure like them and they're still  THE candle goliath in the candle world. You don't get that title for nothing.

I enjoyed both candles.  Lemon Zest was so-so and I know I won't be buying this scent in their jars again but I probably would in a tart or votive. Lemon Lavender on the other hand was a winner to me and one I'll always continue to buy.  I think with any company, it's hit and miss with the scents you buy.  Yankee is worth buying but in my humble opinion, only when you can catch a sale.
