First impression of Lemon Drop Cookie:
I always get so excited when I’m ready to grab a new candle from 1803 to review. I still have so many to choose from, so just to have some fun, I randomly pick a candle without even knowing the fragrance. The candle I picked for this review was beyond perfect. The scent… Lemon Drop Cookie. Oh yes, the smile that lit my face went from ear to ear with this one. I love, love, LOVE bakery lemon scents.
Here is the scent description for Lemon Drop Cookie, it’s a long one:
Nanny’s recipe book says to add only fresh squeezed lemon and finely grated vanilla bean to warm butter and sugar to make the best lemon cookies this side of the mountain.
Lemon Drop Cookie is a replica of a country kitchen inspired lemon sugar blended with rich, buttery hand-mixed dough. Pure lemony goodness! Not too tart, with a creamy invigorating lemon aroma, Lemon Drop Cookie is your favorite homemade cookie in candle form. Our authentic, original Lemon Drop Cookie soy jar candle has remained in the top ten best sellers since it was lovingly created. Lemon Drop Cookie will be sure to make your mouth water and cause your kitchen to fill with family.
Just a bit of insider info… when I start a review, I always pop the lid off and place the candle next to me while I write the into. It gives me an opportunity to experience the fragrance before lighting the candle. I have to say; Lemon Drop Cookie was definitely an experience from the start. The aroma emanating off the candle alone distracted and teased my senses the entire time I wrote this intro and all I can say is Mmm!! A fresh bakery lemon wafted all around me and boy was it strong. Mega strong, and the candle wasn’t even lit yet. I was already impressed and halfway in love.
Now let’s see how this candle performs. I’m crossing my fingers it will be a room filler.
The previous 1803 candles I’ve burned seemed to perform best in a medium size room so that’s where I lit this candle, and it was a perfect choice. Once the wick was lit… it took a good 30 minutes to reach a full melt pool and the fragrance…. A luscious lemon bakery that smelled universal to me… lemon cookies, lemon bread, lemon pound cake, lemon bars – take your pick. This candle smelled like all of the above, and I loved it! My entire guest bedroom smelled like a sweet lemon bakery with the perfect touch of tartness so their scent description is pretty accurate.
Strength – I would rate this candle an 8 in a medium size room. 10 in a small room. If you want to enjoy this scent in a large living space, try two candles or melts.
This candle burned perfect. No wick issues. Clean burning from beginning to end.
Closing to my review:
I loved Lemon Drop Cookie and can easily see why this scent ranks in their top 10. As a lemon lover, it fulfilled every requirement I have in a bakery lemon scent. Warmth, sweetness and LOTS of lemony goodness! And yes, I’m for sure purchasing this one again. In fact, I think next time I’ll go with melts so I can enjoy this fragrance in my great room where I spend most of my time.
Do I recommend this scent? Heck yeah! Especially to all you lemon lovers out there. I am definitely going back for more! This scent was a tart and perfect lemon bakery. Not too sweet and not too tart. It was a perfect balance in between the two.
Happy candle hunting!
