Review of a "Java Bean" Scented Triplet from Old Virginia Candle Co.

Carolyn, lover of Old Virginia Candles Hi Everyone! For my third candle review, I decided to try a "Java Bean" scented "triplet" candle from Old Virginia Candle Co. Read the review to find out what a triplet is and to see what I thought of burning my Java Bean Triplet. Happy Reading as Always! (The photo above shows you the selection of Java Bean candles from Old Virginia Candle Co. My triplet is the smallest candle in the picture. It's the one that looks like a votive.)

What's a Triplet from Old Virginia Candle Co.?

Last night I burned my first candle from Old Virginia Candle Co. called a triplet, otherwise known as a votive in other candle stores. I was in a gift shop a few months ago in Lancaster PA, and noticed a display of candles from Old Virginia Candle Co. I was so excited to come across their candles because I have always heard a lot of favorable opinions from candle-lovers online about their candles. So, I immediately bought three of their triple fragrance votives so I could try them out for myself to see what all the hype was about.

Before I get to my "burning experience," I'd like to explain what their "triplet" candles are. Each triplet is the usual shape and size of a votive, but has 3 scents instead of just one. Old Virginia Candle calls their tri-scented candle collection "Triple Fragrance," which are also available in 3 jar sizes and melts. Each of their "Triple Fragrance" candles, including my triplet, have 3 horizontal stripes of color. Each color represents the scent contained in that part of the candle.

Scent and Color Description of My Java Bean Triplet...
The name of the triplet that I burned last night is "Java Bean" and the 3 color stripes are caramel, cream and dark brown. The caramel stripe at the top of the candle represents Old Virginia Candle's Caramel Vanilla Bean scent. The company describes this scent as, "Creamy vanilla combined with the sweetness of caramel." The cream stripe in the middle of the candle represents their Cinnamon Latte scent. The company describes this scent as "The rich scent of cinnamon tempered with subtle coffee notes." And lastly, the dark brown stripe at the bottom represents their scent, Macadamia Roast. The candle company describes this scent as "A warm creamy fragrance with macadamia overtones."

Just to give you another example of their Triple Fragrance candles, I also bought their Key Lime Pie scented triplet, which stripe colors are white, lime green and tan. The stripes represent the following scents: Sweet Meringue, Key Lime, and Sugared Pie Crust.

The Benefits of Buying Triplets from Old Virginia Candle Co...

I just love the idea of their Triple Scented candles, especially the triplets. First of all, the stripes really make these votives stand out from the plain old votives that you normally see. They are really attractive. If the stripe colors on one a their candles matches your home decor, it would make for a really great accent in one of your rooms. And most importantly, you usually only smell one scent when you burn a votive, but if you burn one of their triplets, it's makes for a pleasing sensory experience that continues to change. Think about it this way, you get three scents for the price of one!
