What did my Seville Blood Orange candle smell like?
I am so so late getting these Pier 1 candles reviewed and up on Candlefind but better late than never. I’m still seeing them for sale at Pier 1 stores so I’m reviewing them regardless if they’ve been discontinued or not. These candles are so gorgeous and exotic and Seville Blood Orange smelled amazing!! I loved the medallion embossed lid too… very Pier 1.
Here is the scent description I pulled from Pier 1’s site:
This zesty citrus blend evokes the sunny Mediterranean with its notes of tart orange, grapefruit and lemon, balanced with melon, aquatic cucumber and verbena.
Smelling the wax for the first time… I smelled orange and cucumber the most. Maybe lemon but it was hard to tell. I’m hoping once the candle is burning, all the notes in the description will come to life.
Time to find out!!
I lit this candle in a small bathroom to start out and ended up leaving it there from start to finish. The scent was medium in strength in a small room and oh my goodness was it heavenly. The aroma stayed true… a sweet orange blended with fresh cucumber. Neither more pronounced than the other. It was very different and soothing.
Strength – on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this candle a 7 in a small room. 5 or less in a medium or larger room. This was definitely a candle more suited to a smaller size room.
This candle burned perfect. Zero wick issues. Clean burning from beginning to end. A+
Closing to my review:
Happy candle hunting!
Burn Performance: 5/5

Smells like fresh cucumersKathy on 2016-08-14 21:19:06
I've tried this scent myself a long time ago. It was an expensive candle for the size but it did smell really nice. Like fresh cucumbers with a little bit of orange.
