 Introduction to my review of scented candles from HeavenScent Soy:
HeavenScent Soy Candles are sold on line and through a limited number of independent retailers. The founder, Lynne Trace, began this company in 2005 in Pennsylvania. They offer a variety of premium soy candles from votive candles, to tea lights, jar candles, as well as floating candles and soy warmer tarts. They also have small glass “party candles” - the small glass votives that look great in centerpieces or to decorate reception tables. HeavenScent Soy also carries bath and body products (check out the bath salts and the large selection of giftable B&B sets!)
The oil and tart warmers are unique - there are several that I have not seen before, and there is interesting candle wall décor, candle holders and even those cool natural salt rock candleholders that give off that gorgeous amber glow when the tea light is burning. Another item that is unique - their Ebay site has Pillar Tea Light Tranquility Fountains! They are attractive, reasonably priced, and there is a spot in my master bath that is begging for one. Tres’ chic!
The website’s décor is blue and white, clean and to the point. There is a small illustration of their candles, but you primarily launch right into the jar candles that are offered. The menu can be found, as usual, on the left side and they post on the front page what the current turn around time is. The scent list is on the top menu bar, and to find the description, click on the candle you are interested in, and the detailed description of the candle appears. The list contains about 50 scents, including one called “Old Spice”! I bet that scent is getting waaay more action as of late! (You saw it, right? The commercial, I mean? Get your you-tube going if you missed it. Where have you been?) |
What did my candles look like?
The candles I am burning are the small and medium jelly jars, 6 and 10 oz. The come with the metal lids, and a very cute label/tag. Each candle has a  plaid fabric ribbon tied around the top of the candle and attached to this is a folded tag with the company name on the outside.
When you open the tag you will find the name of the scent and when it was poured. Clever! I have always wondered how old my candles were when I bought them.
Sweet Juicy Pear - 6 oz. soft green with a two-toned green and white ribbon
Spiced Orange - 6 oz. orange with a fun colorful plaid of gold, turquoise and red

How did my candles from HeavenScent Soy Candles smell?
These candles have great scents for transitioning into fall. Done with the coconut limes and beach scents? Maybe the pine tree and eggnog is too much already? These three scents could be the answer!
Sweet Juicy Pear 
"A delightful pear scent."
This has one of the best cold smells I have ever tested. It is a candy-like ripe and juicy pear scent. The jelly jar is pretty small, so I am thinking the throw will be limited as well. Indeed, this candle best scents a powder room - the candy like scent is not as noticeable as the pear scent when burning. I would really like to have this one stronger - it is a great scent.
Spiced Orange
"Fresh oranges with a kick of clove, cinnamon and other secret spices"
A scent that tells you that fall is coming! It reminds me of a pomander or a cup of hot spiced tea on the cold sniff. Again, we are burning a little guy so it is at it’s best in the powder room. After burning for awhile, the orange is not as noticeable, and the air is full of those well-known autumn spices.
MacIntosh Apple 
"A bushel full of sweet mouth-watering apples ready for grandma's kitchen"
This is a classic scent! I am trying the bigger jelly jar, 10oz., larger but still a scent pool that is pretty small. I think the length of the jar has increased, but the diameter as about the same! The scent is true - a nice crisp apple - sweet, not tart. I am also using this one to scent the powder room. |
How do my candles burn?
Fabulous! Not a bit of soot, and minor wick trimming if I let them burn for a really long time. No wax is left on the side of the jar. |
Final thoughts on my HeavenScent Soy Candles:
These plaid beribboned candles are cute - great for country décor or a sitting on a warmer in a college dorm. They are more cozy than fancy, and the scents are likeable, classic ones! Since I like my throw a little stronger, so I would probably try the big candles (16-26 oz.).The tarts may be a good option also, 12 come in a pack for $6.50. That is a pretty big pack for a scent I may be unsure about, so maybe the 3oz candle is what I would try if I wanted to test scents.
You have many choices when you shop - you can choose “wick“, “no wick” or “wood wick” for your candles - as well as the color. Shoppers be warned: at HeavenScent Candles, you can turn your inner candle maker loose!
